I'm unsure about Thor's future in the MCU.

On one hand i think he should absolutely continue because there's so much to explore and do with that character. So he might just ride into the sunset in some manner at the end of A4. That would be one of the scenarios.

On the other hand i have previously made a solid point for why the character could indeed be gone for good. Thor has lost everything, Asgard has run it's course, most of the stuff near to him is gone so like he said "What else do i have to lose", well not much other than himself in the fight for a good cause. And know he is also living with the guilt of not having done the right thing.

Also Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson jumping to and trying to reignite another franchise tells me that there aren't big plans for them in the MCU's future. There would be a risk of over exposition with 2/3 franchises(Thor franchise, Avengers and MIB) playing next to each other. So it seems to me that the writing might be on the wall regarding Thor and Valkyrie.

I think he will probably go to rebuild Asgard with whatever people is left, finds a place far far away and exits the scene without dying at the end. So occasionally he can still jump back into a team up movie and the door won’t be completely shut for another Thor movie either if MCU chooses to do one. Valkyrie can go either way, to help him rebuild or to continue her own ventures. That’s rather flexible for the franchise. It sounds like the actress still wants to get involved for some more (hey why not almost everyone wants to get into a CBM these days).

Thor rocks! Chris Hemsworth is a great action movie star and I've been wondering if he'll ever give us a dad role, separate to the MCU of course. Knowing he has a wife and kids makes me want to see him play a role model / good father sometimes. It's not that he isn't one in real life, but I think it would help his image a little. I mean, he can still be the sexiest man alive if he wants but the videos of him with his kids and wife makes it harder to stare if you know what I mean...

It will be very interesting to see what they do with Thor in Endgame. First of all he's lost so much, and he's probably feeling a lot of guilt over that he was the one that could have stopped Thanos, but ultimately failed. In part due to being so hungry for revenge.

Secondly he's become incredibly powerful, so they have to step up the challenges for him.

The trailers haven't shown anything to make any qualified guesses on, but just seeing the gifs above still puts my mind into general speculation mode.
