Endgame Thor/God of Thunder - Chris Hemsworth

Now the big question here is... Where is Thor? Wakanda? Thanos planet at the end of IW? Or somewhere else...

He was last seen in Wakanda. And he was wearing the new armour and gear like it’s seen in that shot. Also that doorway doesn’t look at all like something we recognize on Earth... it could be from a building, cave or spaceship.

We also see mountains and threes in the background. Both Wakanda and the unknown planet have that.

On the other shot Thor seems to be in front of a fireplace...

Seeing these images side by side it does look like they are 2 different places. Also it's 2 different times of the day so that might make a difference. Still i think i'm more inclined to say that Thor is probably in Wakanda.

Yes it looks like Thor is wearing the same armor he had in Wakanda. You can tell by the collar .Might be an early shot in the movie from the immediate aftermath before we cut to several years later.

Idk
I don't see Thor spending much time walkin around Wakanda all disheveled and depressed

My immediate thought was that it was Thanos' farm planet, and Thor shows up for revenge... but he finds Thanos ailing and in no condition to fight, and the gauntlet in no condition to reverse the snap. Then he goes back to earth and tells his teammates that they can't use the gauntlet to fix things, setting off their Quantum Realm/Time-Travel adventure

I know that there is a lot of things that will be going on in this film and that Thor sort of had his moment(s) to shine in Infinity War already, but I really do still hope that he actively plays a crucial role towards defeating Thanos and that it is presented in a way where he's shown as an indispensable member to the surviving heroes.

I feel like out of all of the main heroes who survived the snap, Thor lost the most from Thanos, and given how close he was towards defeating him in IW, I feel like it's only right that he would be allowed to play a vital role towards defeating Thanos once and for all.

Defeating Thanos will be a team effort for sure. Thor already had his triumphal comeback in Wakanda and against Thanos at the end of IW so in that regard i'm not expecting much from him in AEG. I think Hulk will have his rematch, Captain Marvel will show how powerful she is, Captain America will probably have that "last man standing" aura about him...

Having said that, right now Thor is arguably the most powerful avenger in the roster. He seriously leveled up in Ragnarok and IW/Stormbreaker just made him even more powerful. The way he was wrecking shop in Wakanda and single handidly almost took down Thanos is something that just can't be overlooked.

So even though i think Thor will take somewhat of a back seat in AEG, his power level shouldn't allow him to be sidelined because he has a massive impact in battle. What i could see happening is Marvel bumping up Hulk and Captain Marvel in order to level things up and somewhat draw the focus from Thor.

One thing the MCU has done successfully is to spread out the heroes contribution making it work as a team effort.
There's different aspects to each character that can play a role in a battle scenario. There's the tech, the brains, the muscle, the raw power, the leadership, the aerial/ground threat...

Right now Thor is arguably the most powerful avenger. He has that innate lighting power of his coupled with insane durability, godly strength... Then you add in Stormbreaker which significantly increases his fire power, serves as a long range weapon, gives him flight, the ability to summon the bifrost... Right now making Thor head and shoulders above his teammates.

Then Marvel decides to introduce Captain Marvel who is suppose to be the "most powerful" hero. We already had glimpses of what she is capable of doing. She seems to be incredibly strong, she can survive and successfully fly and fight in space, she apparently is one of the only characters that can survive the quantum realm whiteout a protective suit, she has those massive power blasts, she seems to be able to fly faster than anyone else, she's skilled and is not dependent on any weapon other than herself to deliver massive feats at anytime.

Last but not least in the list of powerhouses we have Hulk. Who has nearly unmatched strength, incredible durability and rage capable of increasing his already insane physical abilities. In AEG he seems to become even more formidable because of his Professor Hulk persona. A character as strong as Hulk is a sight to behold but when you add in the intelligence of Banner it just makes for a scary and very dangerous character who's not only going to outsmart but also overpower almost anyone. So for example take what we saw in the begining of IW in the Thanos vs Hulk bout and add Banner's intellect... that drastically changes things.

So long story short, Thor's level will soon be matched by 2 incredibly powerful and intelligent characters capable of performing insane feats, filling in the power gap and leveling out several characters influence in the team.

I really do hope once Endgame comes out that it will alleviate both mine and other people's concerns regarding how Thor will be presented when fighting alongside Captain Marvel. Every time I hear someone say on how all powerful Captain Marvel is and how she is the strongest there is, it keeps rubbing me the wrong way.

I truly hope that the film presents them mainly as equals as opposed to them having a HUGE gap in power between each other.

I hope so too. I can’t see her being far off Beast Mode Thor.

It was awesome seeing Thor back, that shot of him hovering with Stormbreaker is very cool. Also and once again like in Infinity War we have Thor appearing in a "post credit" scene, this time welcoming Captain Marvel to the fold... Thor makes everything better, he bounces well with everyone and that snippet of interaction with CM just makes you want to see much more of those 2 together.

In the comics and from what i have seen, there's always been a fun camaraderie between Thor and CM, both respecting each other's power with Thor being the regal one while CM likes to compete...

That is such an amazing shot of Thor powering up with Stormbreaker. Loved the teaser with Carol at the end as well.

Thor with his lightning powers active is still epic levels of cool. He and Carol are going to wreck things.
100%. I'll say that visually, there isn't someone with a better looking display of their powers.
Thor looks epic when in Beast Mode. The lightning around the armour, in the eyes, the flaming Stormbreaker... It's damn near perfect.

What they've been able to do with Thor recently is just fantastic. He had been in two of his own films, and two Avengers films, but it never really felt like the studio had gotten it right.

Man, has that ever changed with Ragnarok and Infinity War.

Absolutely loving the pairing of Thor and Carol together. Hemsworth always seems to have great chemistry with his female co-stars.
