Lol.

I imagine all the Italians shaking their fists and saying near unanimously "Troppo commedia!"--or in English "Too much comedy!"

Don't worry Italians. Disney got your semi-serious films in the form of Star Wars.

It's not this the problem. The fun sequences are welcome. But in this movie there's no limit.

Every comic scenes kills drammatic scenes. And in fact there are no real, true, drammatic scenes. It's a parody. It's not a comedy movie.

IT'S A PARODY.

This is the great problem of Thor: Ragnarok.

Let's welcome all opinions on the movie without belittling them, especially if they are being genuine and not jerks about it. It's been said by many critics who liked the movie that this won't be everyone's cup of tea.

It is an odd coincidence as to how Italians seem to dislike it in general, though. I wonder why that is.

We hate NuWars movies too(not me though). Sorry. Disney is basically a bad word here.

Basically people here think these movies are all made by Disney and therefore Disneyfied. No distinction between LuscasFilm,Marvel Studios etc

Well, that's just ignorant.

No, it's stupid.

There's no balance between fun and serious sequence. It's an entire movie full of gag.

Its the worst Marvel Studios movie.
You think it's fun? It's your problem. For me, it's a stupid movie. And the confirm of the failure of Thor franchise.

I literally could not disagree more. On ALL points. There's plenty of drama balanced with the fun, despite your claim to the contrary. At least there was in the movie I watched.

I knew we'd start getting the contrarians and the naysayers in here eventually trying to shout the movie down. It will always happen when a movie has such an overwhelmingly enthusiastic initial response as Ragnarok.

That's okay, this movie isn't going to work for everyone (what movie ever has??) but I think the reaction we've seen so far proves that it works for the majority, and that is what's important. :yay: I've been having a browse through the Ragnarok hashtag on twitter and an overwhelming majority of people are seriously loving the movie so far, it all bodes well for hype and word of mouth.

Well, that's just ignorant.

I know, right? It's so weird that seemingly the rest of the world is having an absolute blast with Ragnarok, except Italy. I find it kinda funny tbh. :funny:

Obviously I haven't seen the movie yet, but I have seen dramatic scenes in the clips and trailers, so unless those have been cut from the film, I don't understand.

Well let's just pump the brakes on this for a moment. 2 or 3 guys don't make the hole of Italy.

Oh, I know. It's just most of the overwhelmingly negative reactions we've seen so far have come from Italy. Dude, I love Italy. Beautiful country that produces the best food in the world. :drl:

And valpolicella. mmmmm. Best red wine in ever to go with it.

Let's see how much the Italian box office has to offer. Thor: TDW made a total of 11M over there. We shall see how people respond to the movie and if they decide to go in and support it or not.

Jeff Goldblum will hang out with Darryl in new Team Thor short

The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s expansion has touched on even the more tedious parts of a superhero’s life, like paying rent, courtesy of Taika Waititi’s Team Thor short films. The Thor: Ragnarok director introduced fans to the Odinson’s mortal roommate Darryl last year, who won’t actually be in any Thor movies, but will return for a new short, according to Jeff Goldblum. The actor, who plays the Grandmaster in the upcoming movie, tells Radio Times—an article which, we have to warn you, is full of spoilers, so please proceed with caution—that we’ll see his character shack up with Darryl at some point.

I shot a thing with Taika, where there’s a roommate in Australia. I show up at his, and I do knock on his door. And I take up residence in the little flat, as they say here. That’s what I do. And order things from the takeaway restaurant. Buy all the local foods.

Based off Goldblum’s little synopsis, it sounds like the Grandmaster is a much better roommate than Thor, which might have something to do with not being born a god. There’s no word on when we’ll see the new short, or if the promo will even be released with Ragnarok now just days away. But it’d make for a great Blu-ray extra.

Exactly. Maybe Carlo and his 'friend' (who have both proclaimed this to be the worst Marvel movie ever) aren't indicative of how other Italian folk feel about the movie, even if Carlo did lay it on thick about how all the Italian critics hated it.

Oh my god, that is so awesome. I can't wait to see Darryl and the Grandmaster reacting to each other, I'm :funny: just thinking about it.

heh... the Grandmaster showing up at his office (I love how none of the other workers are even looking up- its like Thor shows up so often they just ignore him!)

Which proved not to be correct as we know and was explained by another user. It's gonna be interesting to see the BO turnout. :cwink:

OKAAAAAAAAAY.....It doesn't appear that's how it's going to go down in the history books. I think I'm going to find your opinion of the movie funnier than the movie itself. We shall see in 9 days.

EDIT: It ticked up to just over 98.5 (99%) on RT. No Italian critics yet I suppose.... :cwink:

It's promising that the gushing reactions here sound relatively sane and collected and it's some of the negative that sound more irrational in how the posts are formulated.

When someone that sounds like Carlo is negative about a movie I take it as a bigger chance that I'll end up liking it.

Well, there's this thing called a general consensus. So far, it seems to be the consensus that it's pretty good. There are always outliers when it comes to taste and temperament. Sometimes they go hand in hand; sometimes not.
