https://screenrant.com/taika-waititi-thor-4-ragnarok-2/Screen Rant recently sat down with Waititi to discuss Thor: Ragnarok and how interested he would be in returning for another installment in the Thor series. While the director was on board with the idea, he revealed that it wouldnt really feel like doing a fourth film, but rather more like Ragnarok 2. Waititi elaborated further on this point, saying:
Yeah, people ask me, would you do another one, and for sure Id do another one because it wouldnt even feel like doing a fourth Thor film, it would just feel like doing the second Ragnarok film. Cuz it does feel like in a way, yeah theres been this reinvention in an exciting way So its exciting cuz it feels like, if Chris were to do this again it wouldnt feel like oh its the eighth time Ive done Thor, no it will feel like the second or third time Ive done this character. Same with Mark [Ruffalo].
Couldn't he do another marvel movie instead of Thor? They should let him do Guardians 3.

He's never read a Thor comic not that it matters but how did he even become the director of Ragnarok? Did the studio come to him because they liked his previous work?
Waititi was getting a lot of buzz from his work in What We Do in the Shadows and Hunt for the Wilderpeople. Also, it kind of is Marvel's MO for a lot of their films. They've picked a lot of directors like this who are aren't as experienced especially with major budget films. He's never read a Thor comic not that it matters but how did he even become the director of Ragnarok? And Taika is also an Oscar nominated director. His movies are crowd pleasers and he is very talented. After Thor Ragnarok, studios will try and get him in their ranks... WB is already trying to get him to direct Akira... He has also worked previously for Disney and now Marvel, i suspect they don't want to lose him to WB. He is going to be very sought after.
Be sure to catch @MarkRuffalo tonight on @colbertlateshow

I really want a fourth Thor film. There's so much untapped potential and I hope that Taika returns for a second outing.
