Watched it 10 hours ago for the first time...
Awesome movie with minor problems.

The start was like "The Force Awakens", as Ren confronts Poe and i saw something bad coming... but Waititi did a better job in turning the scene into something logical - other than "TFA" did...
The humor is unfortunately a little bit over the top in general (, like in the last two MCU movies (GotG 2 and Spiderman: Homecoming)).
Please Feige, we are at a point where LESS is MORE!!
I do not need the "i am cool"-jokes in the MCU... at least not every "5 minutes"...

Finally we have a great - and i like the first Thor movie and like watching Thor 2 - Thor movie! YES!!!
And a great Thor too -he is just awesome, like he should be from the beginning of the MCU.

Cate Blanchett steals the show, although everybody in the movie is really great!
She is so beautiful...

Will watch the movie at least one more time..

Screen Rant recently sat down with Waititi to discuss Thor: Ragnarok and how interested he would be in returning for another installment in the Thor series. While the director was on board with the idea, he revealed that it wouldn’t really feel like doing a fourth film, but rather more like Ragnarok 2. Waititi elaborated further on this point, saying:

“Yeah, people ask me, ‘would you do another one,’ and for sure I’d do another one because it wouldn’t even feel like doing a fourth Thor film, it would just feel like doing the second Ragnarok film. Cuz it does feel like in a way, yeah there’s been this reinvention in an exciting way … So it’s exciting cuz it feels like, if Chris were to do this again it wouldn’t feel like ‘oh it’s the eighth time I’ve done Thor,’ no it will feel like the second or third time I’ve done this character. Same with Mark [Ruffalo].”

I believe that he said that the only MCU film he'd be interested in is another Thor. Both because of the bond he created with the people on the shoot and because he doesn't care as much about any other character.

He's never read a Thor comic not that it matters but how did he even become the director of Ragnarok? Did the studio come to him because they liked his previous work?

Feige must have seen something in him, and from the looks of it he did an incredible job as it is the best reviewed Marvel movie yet. Not to mention most fans seem to be loving it as well.

Waititi was getting a lot of buzz from his work in What We Do in the Shadows and Hunt for the Wilderpeople. Also, it kind of is Marvel's MO for a lot of their films. They've picked a lot of directors like this who are aren't as experienced especially with major budget films.

What We Do in the Shadows had a prominent run on the film festival circuit, which is where a lot of talent gets scouted for sure.

And Taika is also an Oscar nominated director. His movies are crowd pleasers and he is very talented. After Thor Ragnarok, studios will try and get him in their ranks... WB is already trying to get him to direct Akira... He has also worked previously for Disney and now Marvel, i suspect they don't want to lose him to WB. He is going to be very sought after.
