Age of Ultron Thor should be more powerful!!

I think they need to step up the powers ala what they did with Cap in TWS. I do not want to see Thor look like Superman in MoS, which I thought the effects looked silly and video game like.

Showing Thor's flying ability tied to swinging Mjolnir is great, and an homage to how Lee/Kirby wrote the character. He should not fly like he does as Ultimate Thor.

Don't make Thor strong by making Ultron Weak. In Avengers EMH, Ultron was about to kill Thor, but Enchantress transported him before he was killed.

Ultron can absolutely destroy Thor, as he can any of the Avengers, because he can think faster and knows all of their vulnerabilities.

How does Ultimate Thor fly?

IIRC, he just sort of floats in the air, at least when not moving at speed.

616 Thor does that too sometimes.

I like the idea that Mjolnir helps him direct his flight, but he can still fly without it, just not as fast. He shouldn't just swing the hammer and hang on for a ride.

I wanna see Thor dog fighting like Iron Man, or at least flying in the air and raining down lightning on his opponents etc. Movie Thor just seems to grounded, literally.

No Thor's flight is based on the way Lee Kirby designed him. Iron Man has the flight mastery as it should be.

I agree there should be more feats of strength and more lightning but he should not fly on his own, that was the whole reason Lee/Kirby had him use the hammer.

How does he stay in the air when he throws the Hammer then? He's done that on numerous occasions.

Pretty much all characters have changed slightly since their inception.

I always thought THOR used Mjolnir (just read that translated it means THE GRINDER, cool!) to fly, like a handheld copter.

Thanks.

Well he only did that once in the first Thor film. I always though he was floating because he was using the wind to carry him when he created the tornado.:oldrazz:

Eh I prefer that he uses the hammer to fly. Adds some tension when he loses it. The idea that Thor can just magically fly 'just because he can' is just absurd to me. It makes him unique to other heroes who can just fly because they can without any explanations.

I wanted to see that in the Avengers but I agree with you.

Thor has been way too toned down in the last two films. He should get a serious power-up in Avengers 2. The fight against Iron Man in A1 was a complete joke and has lead many people to(who are mostly bandwagon fans of Iron Man starting from 2008) believe Iron Man was winning and would have won if the battle continued. Then you have Thor getting completely ****-stomped by Kurse in TDW. This is a joke, needs to change, and Hemsworth should be demanding Thor gets a serious upgrade for future films.

That is by far the best way to handle his flying. Glad the MCU went this route rather than Superman flight.

Kurse can stomp Thor...
Even the comics showed this..He is a Monster with unbelievable power...
For whatever reason they did not really show Kurses true power in TDW....
One got the impression that Kurse was no stronger than the Hulk ...
Thor cannot go toe to toe with Kurse and win...
He needs to use all his fighting abilities....something they for some reason did want to show in TDW...
 Once again letting Loki have the spotlight...
Lets hope they don't make it a 5 second fight between Thor and Ultron and then Thor is quickly knocked out...Ultron needs to be shown being a bit concerned when fighting Thor....

Your thinking in terms of an experienced and upgraded Ultron like in the comics . This should be a version of Ultron that is newly created. So... No, it hasn't upgraded to tackle Thor yet like he's nothing. The powers of Asgard are not like Tony Stark's armors. Asgard should be by rights at this time, beyond Ultron's understanding. Again, do I want Thor to one shot Ultron then grab Portman and fly away? No. But showing hin going toe to toe with the killer robot in a body made of Vibranium, would go a long way towards establishing once and for all Thor's power bona fides in the MCU. Especially if Banner/Hulk gets incapacitated or isn't at the scene at that particular moment.

Kurse is supposed to be like three times stronger than Thor. If anything, his power was TONED DOWN in TDW. The ass-whooping that he gave Thor should have been MUCH worse.

ULTRON will make The Destroyer look like a tin can. :)

:woot: 100% Agree...
Lets hope they carry this over into the movie...
By the way has anyone heard if Portman makes a cameo in AOU?

Kurse was so underwhelming in TDW, but again, Thor's yet to be shown as a truly Hulk level powerhouse either.

I do disagree though that the A1 Iron Man fight did Thor any disservice. It's actually my ideal in some ways. Iron Man is a powerful character in his own right, and should be able to hang with Thor for a bit at the start of a fight. But eventually, unless Tony has a hell of a plan, Thor's going to crush him with the hammer or peel it off of him like opening a can of sardines, and to me the A1 fight was going to go that way.

^^ warriorking: I think the current rumor is that Thor and Jane arent together in AOU but she shows up at the post HYDRA battle celebration at Avengers Tower with the dude that she dated in TDW and THOR is in Ex-boyfriend mode. Im not sure if that makes sense though because Thor went to Earth to be with Jane, so thats either untrue or theres been some big trouble in their relationship since we last saw em. Also why would Jane show up if her and Thor arent together? we'll see if it happens.

I feel that anyone who argued that IM was in any way Thor's equal were clearly not paying attention to what was happening in that scene.

-I took a 400% power boost just for IM to fight Thor on even close to an equal level.
-None of IM's blows were having any real effect on Thor (he didn't have a scratch on him).
-Thor was taking IM's armor apart piece by piece. He crushed the wrist gauntlet with his bare hands and left a huge dent in IM's helmet just by head-butting it.
-He was clearly holding back. He wasn't using his hammer to nearly it's full power and he wasn't even using all of his physical strength.

If Cap hadn't shown up to calm things down, Thor would have completely annihilated IM.

I def think THOR held back on Iron Man due to his newfound code of ethics/honor (wreckless THOR from the beginning of the 1st solo film wouldve probably killed him) and that the extra power he got from Thors lightning blast was mainly why he sorta kept up with him.

When Thor went off on Cap, he was sure lucky the shield didnt bust. I think Cap wouldve been a red white and blue meat waffle otherwise.

Yeah I found that rumor to be kind of lame..
Because that would make the whole point of TDW kind of pointless..
Hopkins as well as Portman both showed support for being in Thor 3..
So shoving her to the sidelines with a ex-boyfriend ploy in AOU is a little hard to swallow....

^I have to agree, and them breaking up off screen would seem REALLY cheap, especially after all they went through to eventually be together. I hope this rumour isnt true personally.
