Those whose seen it - How likely do you think we will see Wolverine 2?

I don't know how likely it is at this point but regardless of what the movie turned out to be, I hope that it makes money simply because I'd love to see another Wolverine movie. Call me crazy but I like going to the theater to see movies based on characters I love. There's a better chance of having a good movie if they give it a shot.

If this makes $1 in profit we will see Wolverine 2 and I won't even bother caring about it because I can say without pause that it will suck.

Unless we get Singer back. At least he focuses on a coherent plot. Even with Fox giving him a hard time.

With the characters vast history spanning more than a hundred years...there will always be more stories that they can do on film. Will they? I'm sure they would love to...would Hugh Jackman do it? Probably not (this was his fourth movie as the character)

I don't think that this movie will do pourly. I think there is enough love for the character and the supporting characters that people will see it. It will make enough money to warrant a sequel.

I'm sure there will be a Wolverine 2 unless the box office is extremely disappointing. They'll blame most of the underperformance in the box office on the leak and go ahead with W2 probably.

What I am against is your implication that those that did not like the Watchmen are somehow less intelligent (i.e. the general public). Its very possible that they understood the movie, but just didn't like it. Just sayin'.

Well then take that up with the critics and the director and Alan Moore and the screenwriters then or even WB since they were so unsure of its success...because they all said that alot of people won't understand the graphic novel or movie or will think it is something else like an average comic book movie with action. Because I say it I'm an elitist? Complain to the creators of it then. You implied I meant they were dumb. They're not dumb if they didn't understand it. Like the screenwriter said, *ahem* David Hayter said It is one of those movies you have to give a second chance and see twice like Fight Club, Clockwork Orange, and a few others to fully understand. There's nothing wrong with that but I wish more people would have tried to read the graphic novel or learn about it beforehand.

Pointless argument, anyways. We are suppossed to be talking about Wolverine 2 and if it will get made.

Well yes it will and yes it will make 100 or a little more than 100 million.

FIRST, let me say that If this was a finished version of the film, I would have NEVER watched it. I would have waited till May and watched it in the theatre

...But after finding out it was a working copy, and not a finished copy... my movie making curiosity got a hold of me. I specifically watched the rough cut so that I could see and compare the differences when I go to the theatre. It was like one GIANT DVD extra.

If anything, its got me really jacked to see this movie (one in which I was only moderately interested in before) Its not because of the story or the action or any of it... I now want to see the finished product to compare and see what they've done differently since that rough cut.

I didn't watch the bootleg to aviod paying to see the movie, but rather to compare the two verions once it is released in the theatre.

I am a superhero movie junkie. I watch and buy almost all of them, to support the genre and ensure that they make more superhero movies.

Agreed! I did the same thing. I'm probably only going to see it in the theatres once because of this, but i'll definitly be there the opening night.

Did anyone else see the scene after the credits? Seems there MAY be a part 2 underway

This movie would have definitely benefited from a longer runtime. (I don't know if that violates the spoiler policy, because I'm pretty sure the runtime is known).

But there were some connections made between certain characters that were contrived, and actually unnecessary means to add known characters into the film.

All of the characters in the film, even ones that you guys have heard people complain about- really weren't handled that badly. Even Wade Wilson/Deadpool was pretty interesting. In my eyes, we can still see the "merc with a mouth" that we all know and love in a future film....

The story was actually great. I loved it. It was interesting, but as said- it should have been fleshed out with a longer run time. There was some poor acting by the children actors, but by all of the leads and principles, it was actually quite well acted.

The FX were unfinished, but the set pieces and sequences seemed like they were very interesting and will be amazing when fully realized.

The surprise cameos, especially one huge surprise will be a great surprise to fans.

The pros:
Good story
Good acting
Good FX/set pieces
Good use of the characters: Notably, Wolverine, Sabertooth, Wraith (I was surprised how much I liked him), Gambit, Fred Dukes, Wade Wilson, and even Scott Summers was all that he needed to be.

Cons:
Child acting
Short runtime, story needed to be fleshed out more.
Deadpool character was good but I can see what some fan's problems are.
Some contrived connections.

I can see the general audience liking this film, especially a finished version with the final FX and-- those 14 minutes of extra footage. Hopefully, these 14 minutes will address the main problem I had about the run time.

This will get a sequel. Not many of the general audience will go online and would have been able to find the film's leak....face it- some of use die hard fans couldn't even find it...I know I had a hard enough time.

Excellent review.

I don't know if a Wolverine 2 will happen. It all depends on this movie's box office performance. I don't think the movie is going to bomb, but I think that the quality of the movie (or the lack thereof) AND the leak might lead to this performing under budget.

If I were the one to chose whether there's going to be sequel or not, I would enthusiastically say "No."

:whatever: I can see that this is going nowhere fast so let's just drop it.

I still say that Wolverine doesn't need any more spin-off movies. I would rather see another team movie featuring Gambit if at all possible.

I would as long as Gambit and Sabretooth were in it and it had a decent plot. It doesn't have to be perfect.

Well if the sequel is in Japan I don't know how Fox would be able to incorporate a bunch of mutant cameos like it does in previous films. If done right I would only want to see Mariko. The Hand,Silver Samurai,Sunfire,Viper,Shingen and Yukio. That's it.I don't want Random mutants to pop out of no where that don't fit into the story.Sunfire isn't in the original story but works because he and Silver Samurai are Cousins.I don't care if his story gets altered to being allied with the Yashida clan.

Omega Red done similar (visually) to the comics could be incredibly badass on screen.

They'll throw in Jubilee and make her Japanese.

They'll throw in Forge and say he's visiting Japan. :o

Seeing as she was non existent in X3 I could see them trying to shove Psylocke in there too.:o

They'll say that Gambit is on a job in Japan. :o
Hey, you guys aren't the only ones that can throw out convoluted ideas for cameos. :oldrazz:

He should have been Weapon Xl.I think fans would have loved that.Well I would have.I would have had Team X{Which really I would have kept to Wolverine,Sabertooth,Deadpool,Silver Fox and Maverick} Invade a program similar to Weapon X in Russia. They aren't informed for what but It's later revealed to be Omega Red who was chosen by Stryker to be his ultimate weapon.I would make a whole Cold War analogy out of it.Not only were the USA and USSR stockpiling nuclear weapons but mutants too.

Wolverine / Patch - more brutal and desperate
Psylocke - better explored and a major character
Silver Samurai
The Hand
Sunfire

Set in a dark / grimy Madripoor - make the film seem claustrophobic, that Wolverine is under immense preasure for the whole movie. Set a tense, suffocating tone. Needs to be darker.

You need flash backs to WW2 as wolverine learns bits about his past (highlander style links to major characters / bad guys).

Japanese Love interest / wife Itsu - linking to training under Seraph and have the Hand linked to Viper and Hydra

Do it right and it could be very cool - but they need a writer who understnds the content this time

Whatever happened to Cyber..
Deadpool was visually simple looking and look...
Do you guys honestly want to see what they would do to Omega Red??

^ That's a good point . This could go either way.

Tbh, I think there's a chance we will, especially at how well it performs at the box office. We'll just have to wait and see.

I'd only go see a sequel if it brings Gambit back and makes him more than a "blink and you missed it" cameo.

Gambit will more likely be in his own spin off or X-Men: First Class if Wolverine 2 is going in the direction I think it will.

No way he's getting his own movie. And to be honest, it would probably suck if he did; without a lot of name recognition and star power, FOX would only get a hack director to work on the project.

First Class is more likely, but I'd rather not see him in a teen-angst/drama fest.
