Those whose seen it - How likely do you think we will see Wolverine 2?

McCabe probably doesn't like it because Marvel Studios is making it. :o

My earlier response to venom892:

Loved The Incredible Hulk, liked Iron Man, can't wait to see Mickey Rourke eclipse Downey in Iron Man II - but the idea of putting Norton and Downey in a movie together with Thor and Captain America is just too farfetched for me.

not feeling it at all.

*Downey has the same concern about the team movie.

No, he doesn't.

He only said it's hard to fit all those characters in one universe, especially Thor, that has a magical background.

Uhhh...Exactly?

you're kinda contradicting yourself by saying his concerns are not mine.

Downey feels Cap and Thor are too farfetched to mesh with Stark and Banner.

2012 will be a horrible release for Fox considering Avengers and possibly BB3 will take those prime slots. Unless they want a June release. Even spinoffs like First Class and especially Magneto... they'd do better in the Fall or Spring.

I agree, 2012 is gonna be a mess with all these movies.

Marvel drowned The Incredible Hulk by releasing it in between IM and TDK. They're doing the same to THOR by releasing it in between SM4 and Captain America.

I think 2012 should only have two comic book properties in its roster - one Marvel and one DC.

That's why IM was able to bank before TDK showed up and superbanked.

*I don't think The Avengers is gonna happen, at least not as soon as they want it to (already got pushed back a year) so that'll give FOX a chance to drop Wolverine II before Batman III in the summer of '12.

I think it could work.If they make it with the same passion and care they did with Iron Man and Hulk then it could work.

He never said anything about Thor and Cap. being "farfetched". He only said it's difficult to create a background/cronology able to accomodate all of them. But he never said he's "concerned" or that they're "farfetched". :o

I can handle Captain America, TIH layed all the groundwork for it will William Hurt's awesome speech.

Its Thor that has me blah about it.

if they had gone with Ultimate Thor - it woulda been perfect.

but Classic Thor???

don't see it working at all.

I always felt Hulk underperformed because the stigma of the original Hulk was still there. I had to convince all of my friends that this one was going to be better. A lot of them said they saw a Hulk film already and it sucked.

But I'm guessing Thor might not be a big enough draw among the general public to be survive being squeezed between two films either...

Yes he did.

He said "picturing Tony interact with Norse Gods and supersoldiers is not something he can swallow easily."

Do you want the article too?

They gotta stop doing that, let the movies breathe for God's sake.

Audiences will only eat up so much every summer.

It won't be a problem. In Ultimates and the animated Ultimate Avengers, Thor's backstory is disbelieved and mocked but he still is part of the team. The other Avengers members and the other people in the film don't need to believe he is from Asgard. His claims to be a god could provide some of the movie's humour and lighter moments.

He may express those concerns now but when he's got a good script in front of him sitting on top of a big pile of cash, I'm pretty sure that he'll start liking the sound of it then.

Besides... Donald Blake has been added to probably smooth the transition. I don't think it will be a HUGE problem fitting him in the puzzle.

Exactly.

It it's such a hard time to fit Thor, just use him less. Like, make him appear on the beginning/ending of the second act, to aid the Avengers to fight Ultron/Kang/whatever because "Such a big thread can destroy his beloved Midgard" or something like that.

Seriously, how many years have to pass between X-films for the franchise to go back to Marvel?

You completely bewilder me. We are wrong for not feeling this movie after seeing most of it and most of our fears coming to fruition but if you have a bad vibe for the Avengers then it will be bad. I can't come up with a coherent rebuttal because I am just so completely shocked.

Give the movie a chance:rolleyes:

I would, if the concept of it made sense to me.

Iron Man had a certain vibe that TIH didn't have that I'm sure Cap's movie won't have that Thor most certainly will not have....

see where I'm going?

Its cool seeing Tony in a Hulk movie (even though they ruined Norton's ending over that absurd cameo that shoulda stayed after the credits) but to put Tony in the same shot as a Norse God?

Just the thought of it turns me off.

Favreau grounded IM real well and now Marvel is thinking about going all fantasy on it.

Ultimate Thor could work well, but they HAD to bring in Blake and actually hire Branagh who is gonna direct something great but set in a completely different dimension than the first two films.

You dooming the Avengers at this point in time is pointless. Sam Jackson will slap you and then put his cigarrette out on your retina.

Favreau is planning on having the Mandarin in his Iron Man series. The only reason he didn't use him in his first film is because he wanted to start off realistic and lead into the more fantastic elements. So Avengers won't affect that. In fact it might even help. After Thor showing up, Mandarin will be easy.

don't even get me started on the casting of Samuel L Jackson.

When I heard that, I literally added Justin Timberlake to the list of potential Captain Americas. Along with Channing Tatum :whatever: :whatever: :whatever:

yeah I read his very interesting comparison of Iron Man with A New Hope and The Mandarin with The Emperor.

he really is trying hard, to make himself believe he understands what he's doing :woot:

I think Iron Man alone shows he knows what he's doing. :o

If he really wasn't feeling the Mandarin, he wouldn't be using him.

And Sam is perfect for Ultimate Fury. He was designed after him!
