THUS FAR... Your Favorite Film(s) Released in 2006!

I would say The Prestige or The Fountain, but I haven't seen them yet :(

But so far, I think The Departed owns

^ The Fountian looks stellar, and Priestige is not better then Departed

side note

two movie in my opinion are getting a little to much credit as best movies of 2006 (but again i asked for what movie you thought where the best, so this is all opinion based anyways and this is just my opinion) are the Preistige, and Inside Man

My reasoining, i think Inside Man was a very smart thriller, but in the same vein it is just your normal bank robbery thriller, clever villan, cunnning cop, a bank, and a twist ending, its all very vanilla, but the cast/crew brought the what would be average cop movie, and made it very good

Prestige very cool, symbolism like mad, cool movie, i just in my opinoin as you can see below, i feel like there where about 9 movies better, but i've only seen it once, maybe if i see it again it will go up in my list

By now the best movie I saw is The Prestige. But I haven't seen the "The Departed" yet.

I think you should grow up ;)

I need The Departed, The Prestige and Saw III to come to DVD before I can vote.

Not many films this year have stuck in my mind... the ones that have are The Proposition and Clerks 2.

Did someone say The Benchwarmers? :D

yes thank christ a vote for The Proposition, i've been bombarded with votes for Inside Man, and The Prestige, while those movies are very good movies, they pale in comparison to the Proposition

clerks 2 rules too

The Inside Man was pretty good... as was The Prestige... but The Proposition... wow... in another league.

MATCH POINT(I saw it in jan/feb), The proposition(wacthed it on DVD a lil while back), nothing else jumps at me, seeing prestige tomorrow though. POTC2 was dire, SR was a disapointment, V was great, not as good as match point or proposition, Lucky number slevin was cool, but nothing to make me go WOW or anything. Inside man was dull, very obvious and simple, with one terrible tracking shot of Washington at one point, also quite predictable, nice narative structure, but hardly anything to 'write home' about.

Oh yeah, I forgot Superman Returns.

1. The Prestige
2. The Departed
3. Superman Returns
4. V For Vendetta
5. United 93

match point is one of the best romcoms i can think of

But then again, I'm a massive Guy Pearce fan... love the Guy. ;) See what I did there?

where is the love for Lucky Number Slevin?

i thought that was a much better crime movie then inside man was

romcom???? How is it even a romcom????? It's an outright drama and existential critique! Romcom is an insult to this film! *crosses arms in huffy fit of despair*

Oh... and Breaking & Entering is pretty good as well.
