Here is an awesome interview with Anne Hathaway. I think it is pretty neat that she actually didn't want to be Alice and choose the role of The White Queen instead. She really exudes maturity for a fairly young actress. She is now 27 years old. I loved her response to the pairing of Tim Burton with this classic story...

And why are the characters also great for a Tim Burton movie?

Anne Hathaway: One of the reasons why Alice in Wonderland and Tim are such a great match is because nothing is exactly as it seems in Wonderland. Nothing is entirely good or entirely bad. There's a mixture of life and texture and intention, and I think that's something with which Tim is really comfortable. And if you look throughout his filmography, nothing is ever what it appears to be or should be. So, I think in that sense, living in the questions, the ambiguity, but also the specificity of the world-these are things in which Tim excels as filmmaker. I believe the filmmaker and the subject matter complement each other really beautifully in this film.

UK cinemas plan 'Alice' boycott

UK cinema chains Odeon, Vue and Cineworld are planning to boycott Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland due to its truncated theatrical run.

The March 5 UK release of the 3D film is in jeopardy because the leading exhibitors require a guaranteed four-month theatrical run to book a film. Disney announced earlier this week that the gap between the cinema and home release will be cut from the standard 17 weeks to 12.

Disney US distribution chiefs Bob Chapek and Chuck Viane are flying into the UK to discuss plans for Alice's release. According to The Guardian, the 12-week deal is said to be a "take it or leave it" offer.

"We feel that it's important for us to maintain a healthy business on the exhibition side and a healthy business on the home video side... We remain committed to theatrical windows, with the need for exceptions to accommodate a shortened time-frame on a case-by-case basis, such as with Disney's Alice in Wonderland," explained Chapek.

Alice In Wonderland, which stars Johnny Depp, Mia Wasikowska, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter, was filmed predominantly in the UK by Burton.

The royal world premiere will go ahead as planned in London on February 25.

No, I think that is unfair to fans who want to see the movie in the theater. Regardless of how long it is showing, it should at least make an theater appearance once.

i still don't like Tweedledee and Tweedledum's CGI.
i thought they said that the movie will be motion captured?

until now i only saw 100% animation. because using someones face for reference is not motion capturing.

:hehe:

So....I guess I'm the only one who thinks that this looks particularly awful?

Eh I wouldn't say its awful. It's combining the two books while simultaneously integrating a story based off the Jabberwocky poem.

I say it looks pretty amazing honestly.

i just wish it had been filmed in 3d instead of doing it in 2d and then trying to convert it afterwards. the 3d effect looks crappy in this movie.

Burton didnt want to use a digital camera. he wanted to use film

I know. I wish he hadn't done that. It really looks crappy and because of movies like this you'll have even more people whining when studios actually do film a movie in 3d.

I want to see this movie but I'm very skeptical. And it has nothing to do with the 3d because I'll see it in 2d anyways.

It's just that Tim Burton and Depp did an awful job with Willy Wonka. And the preview shows nothing to make me think this will be any different. That's why with the Mad Hatter they never really give you much of an idea as to what his personality will be like. just quick cuts.

I think there is a good chance this movie is going to be terrible. It might also be really good. I just don't have any hopes really. I can't think of a single good movie Burton has made since Batman and Beetlejuice.
