Tim Roth is Emil Blonsky/Abomination in The Incredible Hulk!

Glad you agree!
So people aren't going to wonder why the Abomination has elbow swords and the Hulk doesn't? That is much worse than fin-ears and scales.

There is a reason why Hulk doesn't have elbow swords.

Banner tested a very small dose of Super Solider Serum on himself which had practically no effect on him apart from allowing him to survive the Gamma Radiation.

Blonsky on the other hand injects himself with several large doses of the serum which probably has been changed since Banner last used it. He is injected with serum on his spine, elbows, chest etc... making those parts of his body to grow differently and make an exoskelton and prodding bones.

There's a reason for the Abomination's outgrown elbows & for hi zombie like appearance but there is no explanation for his fin ears in the comics.

And LL couldn't have invented a reason just as easily as he invented a reason for the current look?

I'm not saying he couldn't have but as it stands there's a reason for the elbow swords but not a reason for his lizard like appearance.

Did Louis Leterrier explain why the skin of Abomination reflects light?

:wow:
Good, considering he explained the bones sticking out. But if he doesn't then his asking for trouble. :cmad:

Nope and what do you think the chances are it will be explained in the movie? :oldrazz:.

"...What might throw you off [about Abomination’s colour] in the trailer is that there’s fire. Since there are lots of layers of skin and he’s kind of transparent, he reflects whatever’s around him. Since both he and Hulk are gamma monsters, they both have to be gamma green. He’s brand-new, he’s a new monster, so he’s unstable and not perfectly green, but he’s still very green. If you look at him in broad daylight, he looks like the animation from the comic book, that darker, deeper green. If I were to show you a picture of the Hulk in that street at the end, when they’re running at each other, there’s so much fire around them that he looks like an orange monster. But he’s not an orange monster — he’s green."

not sure if it really answers your question or not. its at least acknowledged.

I still hope to see him fully green but deep inside I doubt we'll actually see it.

I'm no expert on this or anything but how exactly would having lots of layers of skin make it transparent? Wouldn't infact do the opposite? Also transparency reflects light around it? It doesn't really make sense to me.

that's why i added the sentence, cause it kinda doesn't make sense to me either.

I don't think english is his first language. i think he meant that the skin is reflective, not transparent. According to him, having multiple layers of skin causes Abom.'s skin to have mirror-like properties, which then reflects everything around him.

i think he just mispoke, didn't really realize what transparency means.

well he did say that it was a dark green in broad daylight. i think we'll see at least one shot of him during the day. and in that pic, it does look like a slightly desaturated hulk green (yea you have to squint your eyes and your face against the computer screen)

That I understand, if this guys giving interviews with explanations to things in the movie he needs to be clear about what he means.

agreed. especially if it's standard question he knows peopel will keep asking him.

I'm not worried about this version of the Abomination anymore, the redesign is great & hopefully he'll be great on screen as well.

So will we see Abom's transformation on screen? Or will it be just a shot of Roth getting injected, then we see the Abom?

More than likely we should see him transforming. If we do, it needs to look hella painful.

i would be absolutely shocked and feel very unsatisfied if we don't get one.

Someone who's read the script should have decent answer for that one, no?

It's chaos for a bit when the lab explodes, and then we see a creature come out of it. We don't find out until the dust clears that it's a mutated Blonsky. There's no transformation sequence before the explosion. It's just his threat towards Sterns and a cut to what's happening outside (which, in my opinion, is a classy approach for an action film).

sounds good to me, nice avy Chibi K

Hell, the only transformation I really care about is seeing Banner change into the Hulk.

Wow, I'm surprised that no one has made a manip of the redesign of the Abomination with green skin.
