Tim Roth talks UP "The Incredible Hulk"!!!

The last thing Marvel is gonna do is release a pic from this film with incomplete CGI. They did that last time with the first teaser...or Universal did anyways.

That Superbowl Hulk teaser did far more harm then good. I'm glad Marvel has learned a lesson from Universal's blunder.

A Buster Keaton mention? This forum is more aged then I thought!

Personally, I don't need to hear the Hulk talk. If the extent of people's expectations were, "Hulk Smash" dialogue as Savage Hulk, then Marvel is making a good decision. It would be pointless and even silly. An integrated smart Hulk wouldn't work either. Combining the general public's love of the TV show with the comic is a perfect idea.

Tim Roth is a fantastic actor but I still have no faith in this movie, the first one just killed it for me I guess.

Well the reason they're cleaning the slate and starting new with this one is because of reactions like yours to the first movie so you should have no issues.

Why would he look silly talking? Come on, with all the weird and strange-looking creatures that have talked in sci-fi/fantasy films for the past 30 years, you're telling me that this, a modern state of the art production, couldnt pull a talking Hulk and Abomination off as well, if not better?

Please. :whatever:

JeetKuneDo was being sarcastic. From what I've seen in his recent post, he wants Hulk and Abomination to talk, just as much as many of us do, and yes, you make a very good point. Present day technology would permit for an awesome job with both characters talking, it's just that they seemed to decide that they should'nt talk. Bummer.

If this was a Saturday morning cartoon maybe talking would be ok but this is a live action film. It would be stupid if they were having a conversation while throwing cars at one another.

Hulk: Hulk throw car.

Abomination: Abomination catch car and throw back!

Hulk: Ow Hulk now mad.

Abomination: Me think us talking is dumb. Let us fight!

Hulk: No Hulk must say Hulk Smash then we can fight.

Abomination: Time out! Abomination Hungry.

Hulk: Dolce?

Abomination: Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Hulk: Me too. By the way I'm gay.

Abomination: I like that you're open about your sexuality.

Hulk: Let's do lunch.

Abomination: Ok let's go. Hey do you have a myspace account?

Camera pans up to the top of the nearest building where The Leader is looking down on his plan collapsing!

The Leader: Damnit to hell! I must get that forumula.

Computer Wife: Howabout Plan-Z?

The Leader: Plan-Z? YES!!! PLAN-Z!!! <evil laughter>

Computer Wife: <sigh>

Abomination has normal intelligence, and doesn't talk like Hulk.

Maybe they should not talk during the fight but they should at least say something before the battle. The Abomination could say something like, "Banner, you did this to me, I am going to make you pay." Then the Hulk's reply, "I am not puny Banner, I am Hulk and Hulk is strongest one of all. Hulk will smash you." Notice how I didn't say "Hulk smash" because so many people have a problem with this iconic line. Of course this is predacated on the Hulk understanding somewhere in the movie that he is being referred to as the Hulk.

Should he talk like the Cookie Monster?

He should talk like he did in the comic book, but like I said in my earlier post they could always spice it up so that he does not sound ******ed but don't make him a genius either. Why can't they make him sound like a high school drop out, someone who knows how to talk, just not properly.

I'm not that bothered about the Hulk talking, but Abomination should DEFINATELY talk, how else will he show his superior intellegence?

Another stupid thing they are doing.

I didn't read the script and I'm sure it's changed somewhat. Even though they're 10 days behind they still have plenty of time which surprises me. I'm sure post production has already started on the film they have.

Should he talk like the Cookie Monster?

Hey, you know, Kids LOVE the Cookie Monster!:oldrazz: But no, of course he should'nt talk like Cookie Monster. Also he doesn't have to speak while fighting, but I have to admit, I thought it was pretty cool when, in the comic book, the gov. guys went and got Abomination to go after Hulk, because banner was sleeping with Blonsky's wife. The dialogue between Abom. and Hulk was cool. Also when both fought more recently in the Ultimates! Abom. taunted, ridiculed, and verbally humiliated Hulk while beating him, until Hulk just looses it!

I was hoping to see SOMETHING like that in the movie, as far back as when it was annouced that TIH is being made. There seemed to be this assured possibility that Hulk would be talking this time around. Up until about 2 weeks ago. That's a bit of a let down.

What occurs to me now is that, this may be a character build for the Hulk, and he may talk in the next film. So many people want to see the gray Hulk, and what if say in the second or third movie, we see "Mr. Fixit" he'll surely be talking then!...Won't he?

Book and films are not the same though. You can get away with so much in 4 colors that you can't on screen. Let's see what happens. Maybe they'll be a hint of the grey hulk at the end.

As far as Hulk speaking goes, it seems to me they are setting it up for Hulk to be talking more in the sequel......if there is a sequel.

OR, I could be just grasping at straws and doing some wishful thinking. I'll have to wait and see. I dunno, they might want Hulk to evolve as a character over the entire course of this franchise.

I know I'm probably in the minority here but I'm not a big fan of "Mr Fixit". That was during the time of my hiatus from comics so I'm not too familiar with that incarnation of the Hulk.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Mr. Fixit, or the Gray Hulk either. I was just trying to make an example. This being a Franchise, I'm hoping they'll take Hulk into more of a broader direction to where maybe he'll evolve into a talking character. Do you think it would work to have Hulk simply "react and smash" in all 3 movies? If the second movie is to much like the first one, then the third movie would suffer.

I really am glad that we'll see Hulk on the big screen again, and I already know that this will be more enjoyable than the first attempt. Even if he's STILL not talking. For this film anyway. I'm already looking forward to the next one after this one.:word:

Silly me. You already said it!

Hey...since the Abomination is also a monster and would look silly talking...how are they going to pull off two mutes in the same movie?

After all, the audience would never be able to believe the Abomination talking, right?

Those are going to be some painful scenes when they are onscreen together. Maybe they can put some piano music in it like the old Buster Keaton movies.

I don't believe that for a second. Hellboy was fine and we've seen talking monsters and even dragons before.

Neither needs to say much, just enough.

I'm not saying he should or shouldn't talk, all I am saying is what does he have to gain by talking, what point will it have if he talks (i am talking about green hulk)

Because the Hulk speaks in the comics and that's the bad a$$ character many Hulk fans want to see bought to life on the big screen. Not the non speaking television version or any mindless version from the comics. In the comics the non speaking Hulks were the worst eras in sales.

I'm a Fixit fan as well as a Savage and Merged but my favorite Hulk is the one that's in the comics now, Gravage. He doesn't say much but he's to the point. He can articulate but he's brief.

I hope Rhythm and Hues can pull it all off, I don't want some fake looking video game looking monsters fighting in live action plates.
