^ But don't you think they tested that form of Galactus and how it would look in a live action film and fit in with the film franchise as opposed to the comic franchise. It's all speculation now but I think whatever it is will make "MOST" people happy and leave thinking they saw a great film.

I am fine with no Watcher, and I'm fine with Galactus not actually stepping foot on Earth - or even getting out of his ship.

For some reason, I'm reminded of a familiar Aztec drawing we used to see back in the 70's during all the Eric Von Daniken /"Chariots of the Gods" fuss, a drawing done thousands of years ago that appears to show a God-like being or astronaut at the controls of some impossible device.

I'm also reminded of the mummified giant alien astronaut found by the Nostromo crew in Alien.

Just show us Galactus motionless at the helm of his ship for 5 seconds.
I can deal with all the purple cloud stuff and drones; just give us the real McCoy when we really see what Galactus is.
Please.

Are you seeing this, Mr. Story?

What are the chances that Everyone in this production is misleading us to believe the worst for The Big Ol' G's characters when come that opening night we get the BIG G in all his glory?

That would be the wisest FOX move ever, are they dumb enough to pass that off? I mean they already have us worried about the character, what better way to satisfy us than leaving that theatre going HOLY CRAP I DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING? :D...................Wait we are still dealing with FOX right?...................:(

Well like i said they've got pretty experienced and talented crew which that includes the likes of WETA. I see no reason why that design (or a variation) couldn't work on screen if they put their minds to it.

^ WHo knows. It might actually surprise people and be that design...or it could be a dozen other variations and mixes. I don't believe for one second it's just a purple cloud...not for a second. Perhaps Galactus is behind the Purple cloud and the same clouds that turned the F4 into who they are.

I sure hope he is.:o

Me neither.

Thats possible and would be a nice twist to the story.Marvel like to connect their movie villains and the heroes (look at Sandman in SM3).

Story words are not comforting. i mean what's up with " We're working on Galactus, he/it will be in the move" What's up with the he/it reference??? I don't trust story much neither. I'm pissed at the comment on calling people who want a faithful adaption HATERS. How exactly are we hating because we want a faithful doom and Galactus???

I'm not sure what capacity Galactus will show up in, but I fear it's going to those damn bug things. FOX just can not get it right. If they couldn't give us Phoenix in all it's flaming bird glory, no way in hell is Kirby's galactus going to make an appearence. I can agree that galactus needs a makeover somewhat for today, cause the purple tunic isn't going to cut it, but he should be close to Kirby's design as him being a giant living cosmic being.

Are you serious? He is how we see him but is he really a he? Does he have a penis? LOL Galactus is an IT but we refer to him as a "he". Period. As he says some of you can find something to complain about in ANYTHING.

Sorry, Galactus is a he.
If you're gonna go by the comic, he's definitely a "he."
If there was ever any wiggle-room on that, FF writer Mark Waid settled it a few years ago with a storyline that actually saw Galactus reverted to his original form: The very humanoid, very male "Galen."

I'm sure Kirby regarded him as male, too.

As for the penis question...
I'm sorry Jack Kirby isn't here to answer that. :woot:

Hmmm...*scratches goatee* Looks like Ioan shouldn't have said anything. LOL

Massive "reading into it too much" going on

Agreed. At this point I'm most content to throw my hands up and say "surprise me on June 15th."

Hurm...

Everything sounds great, including the "new" Doom. I am still, like everybody else, stil slightly confused about Galactus. Whatever the final design is, the wait for it is certainly suspense-filled.

There continues to be much speculation about Galactus. Major speculation. We haven't finished the design of him/it so be careful about what you read and believe. Trust me...no one knows. One things for sure, you can expect to see him/it. It will be pretty powerful. I'm having a lot of fun with the concept and believe me - MOST will be satisfied.

Doom? Oh he's coming. Just wait. Classic look! And we definitely touch on his roots in the film. We're working long hours to make it right.

Interesting...however, since whatever they are doing with Galactus can be changed after the fact (seeing as they are in post production now), this also means the FF almost certainly have no direct contact with him/it at the end of the day (this would be supported by Ioan not thinking or realising Galactus will be seen).

This also seems to lean to them going more for the 'Ultimate Extinction' angle (no-one on Earth had any direct contact with Gah-Lak-Tus then).

Still, this is all guesswork at this stage, will have to wait and see.

In fairness to him he does at least confirm Galactus will be seen. That was still up in the air after Ioan's comments to the contrary. What we will get though...Yeah, he couldn't be any more vague on that score (nor should he be really if he doesn't know himself what they are gonna use yet)

Agreed on the Doom part. 'Classic look' and 'touching on his roots' does sound promising.

True,i honestly get the feeling they have went with the ships and are now looking to try and throw a bone to the hardcore fans by maybe having the Kirby Galactus sitting on some mother ship controlling them,he'll never set foot on earth but he will be at least seen but defeated before he actually gets on the planet which will be the main point of the plot,to stop him arriving.

My suspisions we're correct. Ioan was all smoke. Galactus ( in whatever form ), will appear, as Rothman said. :woot: Sooooooooooooo. Now we have the FF, SS, Dr. Doom, AND Galactus in 1 film. Be still my beating heart. :hyper: How epic, and awsome is this movie going to be ? :ninja: It does not get much bigger in the Marvel universe.

I think he's calling Galactus "it" because it's nonhuman/not of this world. Like for example when SS comes to earth people won't say "hey would you look at him." It'd be more like "hey what is it" or "what is that thing"

Actually, I don't want him to step foot on the earth.

I think the point of the Silver Surfer being humanoid is lost if the threat is the Ultimate version of Galactus. Why does a techno-hive organism need to emulate the form of a planet's natives? In fact, why would an organism like that need to recruit a herald in the first place? Wouldn't one of the collective be sufficient?

This is why the heart of whatever's attacking should be a single, grand, sentient being.

Yeah, I get the same feeling. The opportunity to show something familiar and successful (Matrix Sentinels) to audiences is something I can't see Fox passing up. This way there's less creative risk involved in the interpretation and it will appease general audiences. In other words, it's an easier solution. A quick nod to fans with a brief image of Galactus is what I suspect we'll get....sigh. It will also give the FF and SS something to beat-up on in the end and defeat--rather than take on Galactus himself. God I can already see it: Reed uploads a virus program of some sort that defeats Galactus and his Sentinel clones.

Same as with the whole Phoenix issue; way to risky and expensive to do the whole Phoenix thing, so let's use the familiar "Carrie on steroids, telekenis go mad" angle. It's familiar and not a creative risk.

I like the latest Doom news though, it gives me some hope. I just hope they write Doom as 'DOOM', not smarmy armored bad guy man. Now that he's back in Latveria, he should take on the regal, arrogant presence of a monarch.
