Tim Story MySpace Blog updated

It seems, and maybe its just me. But as I read alot of the opinions negative as well as positive it seems that "some", and I mean "a very few" think that it is the "in" thing to slam a movie before it comes out. In other cases, they are giving a good well-thought out opinion, that may be kinda negative, but for the most part is balanced enough to show that they actually thought about it.

Those that "don't think" usually have little to say except "its gonna suck", or Story is a "d*****" type of thing. And those are the ones that usually follow some kind of crowd and think its cool to be like that crowd.

I see alot of people who are true cynics. You can tell, man they are cynical in everything. Then you see some around here that try and make little cynical "what they think" is funny remarks. Which come off kind of high schoolish. So, as far as I'm concerned, cynics are just fine, as long as they are being true to themselves. Those that are doing it for some kind of "coolness" factor just come off as dumb. But they are entertaining. I think we could probably list in both categories, but well that takes us further off task here.

I don't necessarily see "all good" in X3, it was ok to me. Some of my friends did enjoy the hell out of it. Same went for Fantastic Four, I enjoyed the hell out of it, while some I know were sorely disappointed. They are still looking forward to the sequel, and so am I. Usually when you put all of your eggs into one basket you end up eating the crow that was hatched. Damn I wish I could take credit for that one, but I can't.:csad:

Why do you torture yourself? I wouldn't listen to you either. Do yourself (and all of us here) a favor and just lock yourself in your basement with your comic collection and re-read everything and stop watching the movies. I'm as "true" of a fan as there is but I have no problems differentiating the movie universe from the Marvel Universe. Sometimes change is needed and I have no problem reconciling that fact as long as they stay true to the characters. X-Men and the first FF did that IMO.

Why should Fox pay attention to a few frustrated fanboys when X3's quality and box office speak for themselves? ALL the smart critics loved X3 (Ebert, Roeper, Berardinelli, etc.) and the fact that both the box office numbers and the DVD numbers are stellar indicate that X3 pleased quite a few people.

Overall, like most people (who aren't stuck up fanboys, jealous Superman fans or Cyclops fanatics), I had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed most of X3. Could it have been greater? Probably. Was is a good movie? Hell yeah.

I'm not going to bad mouth Fox when they're the only company that took the comic property rights and ran with it. Spider-Man was a no brainer but Sony has dragged ass on all other projects. Getting Ghost Rider pushed through was like pulling teeth. Universal crapped on the Hulk and left Iron Man & Sub-Mariner to die. Lion's Gate is dragging ass themselves on Punisher 2 and Black Widow, Iron Fist, etc. are all dead projects. Fox working these properties made Marvel a player and allowed them to form their own studio. You should be thanking Fox, not bitching every day about a $450 million dollar hit because they choose to make the Dark Phoenix "wrong" in your narrow mind.

FF2 will be as big an improvement over FF as X2 was over X1. If Fox is so off target then simply refuse to pay to see it and quit your whining.

Nuff said.

I'm not gonna quit any whining so deal with, you thought X3 and FF were quality, fine, if you happy with mediocrity then you'll be dealt that card forever.

I've already said i want ALL CB movies to be good, but have you noticed that 3 produced by Fox make A LOT of people's bottom 5 on the internet? Thats no coincidence is it.

I hope this is good, and if Tim Story was left to his own devices it probably would be, but Fox cant help but meddle in the affairs of these movies. I mean they hit a lucky ****ing strike with the 1st X-Men, as they tried EVERYTHING to try and **** it up.

You are stating a opinion as fact, when in fact one's opinion of a film can't be fact.

For instance I could state that Superman Returns was overly serious, overly dramatic gobbly goop that confirms that Bryan Singer can't direct a comicbook superhero movie if his "too realistic" life depended on it and thats a fact. But it's not a fact, because what if someone actually liked the movie and disagreed with me?

^I know that, but this guy had a go at my opinions so i had a go at his, i forgot you cant be negative on an FF board or you get lynched, this place hasnt changed has it.

I agree with AVEITWITHJAMON's basic point that Fox are not to be trusted
I don't care about accuracy and the like to the comics as i separate the two mediums but having seen what they did to F4,X3,DD and the Aliens franchise on a filmic level quality wise i worry that they will not make the best FILM possible

Or 41. :woot: There are many of us who have waited our whole lives for the FF to come to the big screen. Now that they are here, I am enjoying the ride to the fullest.

Give it a rest Hunter. I'm not that crazy about Fox either, but I do think they deserve a thanks for finally bringing the FF to the big screen, when noone one else wanted to touch it. I look for big things from the sequel. :yay:

LMAO, I love it when the football team plays the game, and the benchwarmer comes in in the last few seconds and takes the credit. :whatever:

Bench warmer ? You were not even here. If you had been, you would remember The Thing 2005. :woot: I came to the hype 2 weeks before the 1st movie opened.

No TripleF he was there. He was "TheThing" at that time before he lost his ID>

Dude, I know who he was, I was reading around then. I've been reading around this forum since late 2004, I know exactly when he came and what he did. My statement still stands.
