To be honest, I can see why people in other cities are upset. However, I think that people really can only get that mad if they actually participated, not just sat around talking about it.

I feel justified in this Chicago thing, because not only have I participated the entire time, but I actually got off my a$$ today, hopped on a bus, and wasted 2 hours trying to get that damn cake from the Chicago site, only to arrive 5 minutes after the other person got it. I left work! I feel like that effort deserves an early prologue...

I feel the worst for those who did what I did in another city but don't have one of the screenings nearby. That really sucks, but at least it is only a 1 week gap. They ought to have given everyone just a teeny bit of footage...or something. Maybe even another short teaser that is different.

Further, I think that this whole mess might be a huge hassle. I have no idea how early to go, how much work to take off, and if I will even be able to get in. First come first serve, but there also are other movies being shown- I don't imagine the IMAX will let people crowd their place all day long. They are playing Boewolf in Chicago and some daytime shows, and the next Boewolf is at 8:00 (whysoserious ticket is 7:30). How do you handle hundreds of people who are going to be in and out in a matter of minutes, expecting possibly more?

I'll get there a few hours early, but I am hoping they limited tickets to an extent so that it isn't anarchy...oh wait, Mr. J is running this show

Also, for anyone out there thinking I called to "reserve" the cake, I did not. I got there and had to ask the lady repeatedly for the cake b/c she had no idea what I was talking about until one of her co-workers mentioned something. Then they made me pay $30 which I am going to get back b/c no one else in any other city had to pay. Anyways, I'll keep everyone informed of what happens when I get a phone call. Hey everyone who plans to go to one of these things:

A word to the wise. This wasn't on my original ticket but I was messing around and put someone else in to see if they were reaching a limit or anything. NOW the tickets say this:

"This screening will be monitored by security. No camcorders, camera phones or other recording devices are allowed. Please do NOT bring items such as these to the theatre as there is NO place to check them. Please allow extra time for security screening at the theatre."

Everyone be good and careful- and if you come from out of town, make sure you have a place to leave your phone and what-not...

The baker there told me I missed it by 5 minutes- so I guess they misinformed me. Might have been having fun with themselves since they made you pay, too.

I came from the North side on the Halsted bus. Took me til about noon to arrive. When I got back it was after 1:10PM, hence the 2 hours.

Congrats on getting it- you must be at a nearby University or something

I was happy to see the pictures so thank you for sharing, but pissed that I didn't have wheels and a quick way to get there- but I knew I had to try!

Oh yeah please post if you get any calls. I am guessing it could be awhile if they gave you a charger, but probably not too long because they don't want people to lose the phones and stuff or start messing with them much.

No problem. I don't go to the university. Actually, I work in the city and bolted downstairs and grabbed at cab at like 11:01. Took me 10 minutes to get there b/c I told the cabby to go as fast as he could. I do need to get my money back, though, since I feel like I got screwed...

Yeah, I wonder how they chose the bakeries. Seems like they ought to have some kind of incentive for them, but I can't believe they charged you. Didn't hear about that from any other city.

I actually know right where the MN one is because I used to live nearby- I was so mad I couldn't try to get that one either, especially since it was the last one.
