I know you'd think optimism was banned here, as negativity is on the FF boards. But, i am 99% confident that Singer will make a sequel that surpasses SR, and that is no easy feat!

I meant, generally speaking, its not easier to make a sequel that surpasses the original no matter how good or bad it is. If a movie is great its hard to make a better sequel, and if a movie sucks and your bound by it, good luck making a better one.

But we're not talking about a sequel to Superman - The Movie. We're talking about a sequel to Superman Returns.

And Donner never had the chance to finish the sequel at the time, so we're only finding it out now.

It doesn't prove anything, thats the point. It just shows how your opinion of SR shouldn't being given as fact or proof of anything. I used that poll because I feel like the people participating are likely to be actual Superman fans, unlike for example a bar. If you read my post you'd see I was talking about both Donner's first film and Singers first. I even used your own point of view so you'd understand, that is, Donners movie being good and Singer's movie sucking. Imo there's no way Donners cut of 2 will be better than 1, it was never as good a story anyway.
