TitanFall

Especially after the disaster Battlefield 4. It was a down year of Cod this year and they should have taken over but they decided to screw that up completely. They'll need Titanfall multiplatform even though the sequel won't here til 2016-17

Battlefield was never going to top CoD regardless. It's been the far and away better series since Bad Company 2 but it doesn't matter. CoD has the name and that "it" factor. The ONLY thing that'll stop CoD is Activision. They'll eventually run that series into the ground. Altho damn, iv been saying that for the last 4 years.

Sequel should hold off that long.. But it's EA.. They'll force a second one out within a year. :/

I read how Dice didn't want BF4 out at launch but EA forced them to put it out at launch.

They've already said they're going to rotate between that, Battlefront, and Battlefield. So the next one won't be until the 2017. The forcing Dice story sounds bogus and just an excuse for the awfulness. Turn the blame towards Ea because its easy.

No, EA wants a Battlefield game every year. Rather it's done by DICE or not. I don't know if they "forced" DICE or not, but im sure EA stated that DICE was to ship BF4 with the new consoles. Now rather that was a realistic possibility for DICE to do or not is debatable. Something obviously went wrong as BF4 had so many issues after launch.

Eh I hope that's not true. Battlefield isn't the type of game that can strive by being released every year.

I agree completely. I think they should take the expansion pack route to keep ppl playing rather than popping out a new version year over year.

BF & CoD are obviously both military shooters but the gameplay is so different that being better by a long way is not necessarily the way to win over fans of the rival game. It doesn't matter how big the maps get, how many players can play in one game or how many cool vehicles you can use, if someone's looking for small map fast twitch deathmatch gameplay theyre only going to get interested when BF do that specific thing better. And even if CoD perfects its own style of gameplay that won't necessarily interest a lot of BF fans who just aren't into that kind of gameplay.

I think the original plan was to cycle BF with Medal of Honor but Warfighter put paid to that idea.

It'll make its money. That demographic of 13-49 year olds still eat up FPS franchises to this day no matter how much of a rehash they are.

If Battlefield comes like COD then I'm probably done. I kinda hope Star Wars Battlefront is the replacement for Battlefield for a while so there is a good gap to allow BF4 to breathe and thrive as I thought BF4 came out too early, but I suppose that is the market these days.

BF will never totally become like CoD with tanks, jets, boats & all kinds of **** like that on massive maps. BUT nothing stopping them including/improving a CoD style playlist and trying to make it better than CoD to try and eat into that market share. Make it so the BF guys don't feel they need to also get CoD to get that fix.

I really enjoyed the Close Quarters map pack they did for BF3. The levels were cool and it did the COD style stuff really well. Unfortunately, I don't think they were able to section off levels in compelling ways for their deathmatch modes in BF4. They just don't flow as well as the levels they designed specifically for that in 3.

Yeah I played a lot of Conquest Domination on Ziba Tower as you can level up so quickly. That was fun, but like CoD I can't be bothered any more once I've levelled up to the requisite amount/prestiged.

Ziba Tower was a blast to play on any mode I thought, one of the few maps I didn't mind the lack of massive vehicular carnage.

I didn't enjoy Gunmaster on that map but anything else was awesome. Conquest Domination was easily my favourite. You rack up the points even if you play terribly lol.

I think i played those CQ maps all of one time and thought they had zero business being in a Battlefield game. I don't play Battlefield because i want close quarters combat, you can do that in the 10 or so CoD games that are out there. It was clear those maps were designed with the intention to lure CoD players away. 'See, look at us, we have small maps than can get you tons of kills. Come play our game.'

Yeah, that was definitely the idea and I think it was a good idea. I'm sure quite a large percentage of BF players were like you and never played them after their 1st couple of goes but they still had a hardcore fanbase. I could nearly always get an almost full if not full game on Ziba Tower even when restricting the search to one map and one minority game mode.

It's probably too early but massively improving on that offering is the only way I can think of BF eating into CoD's numbers meaningfully in a couple of games time (while retaining the majority of the game as classic huge map BF gameplay).

The only GOOD thing about the CQ maps is they can be used to level your guns quicker. Other than that...Utterly pointless.

I'm sick of both CoD and BF. I'm hoping Titanfall will be something new..but I'm not EXTREMELY excited for it... Yet.

Yea there was no doubt they were popular, i mean hell Op Metro had MULTIPLE servers where ONLY that map was featured. I didnt see any other maps get that treatment. I don't know if thats the former CoD players infesting BF or what, but yea theres no doubt those high K/D maps are popular. People still seem to think their K/D is the only measure of success in these games. I think thats why BF4 has so many damn Recons. People just want kills.

And im not saying i don't enjoy that type of MP, i mean thats why im so interested in Titanfall. I just rather not see that type of gameplay in the Battlefield series.

LOL, ya know, i never even looked at those maps like that. Iv been grinding towards the M16 since damn BF4 released. Maybe i need to hit up Op Metro and Op Locker more often haha.

Im not sick of BF4, i enjoy it too much, but i am growing really weary of the whole "modern warfare" theme. Think thats why im so interested in Titanfall. Looks unique in terms of the setting and weapons compared to what i have been playing...mainly, exclusively BF4.

There are times when i HATE BF4 and swear im shelving it(mainly during games where all i do is die) but then ill have games like the one i had last night where i was just cruising in a tank most of the game completely dominating. Shooting down choppers, taking flags, stabbing snipers etc.

It's so fun when you don't give a **** about K/D on those small maps. You can run around like a headless chicken and continually be in the action killing or getting killed and instantly respawning (don't worry I don't play deathmatch like that or I'd be getting death threats after every match!). I tried waiting around with a sniper once and nearly died of boredom. I'd rather get shot while running around. :woot:

On Battlefield sniping makes more sense and is more fun but recon will never be my go-to class.

Do you play BF4 on XB1 man? If so we need to squad up some time. I rather play with friends than randoms.

I didn't even buy it yet actually. I'm kind of in a race against time to finish about 50 pc games by June before they close down GFWL and a bit busy with work for a few months. Only hesitated on BF4 after those rumours of the game being virtually broken and then got distracted by this and other stuff. If you're still playing BF4 after June then I'll definitely squad up, otherwise we can do TitanFall and later Destiny/Halo/Gears (3 while waiting for 4). Plenty of cool upcoming multiplayer stuff!

Haha ill be playing BF4 until BF5 releases along with the Titanfalls and other MP games that catch my attention.
