TitanFall

I think Respawn would rather have their IP be more valuable by being on all systems and actually wants as many people as possible to play their game. I don't think that it was blown out of proportion at all, I think Zampella was genuinely annoyed by how EA made the deal behind their back, essentially undid the work they were planning for the PlayStation versions, and restricted the amount of people who would be playing their game. Respawn was formed due to Zampella's bad experience with Activision and the company prides on its independence. EA kinda took a **** on that with the deal.

I can definitely see the DLC releasing first on Xbox with future Titanfall titles.

There was no evidence a playstation version was even in the works, it's not like EA forced them to pull the plug on that version at the 11th hour. There was never going to be a PS version, at least not right away. Vince constantly stated how his new studio was small and it was always their intention to make the Xbox One version of the game and then turn their efforts on a PS version. I agree in that i think he was upset, because he was kept out of the loop(i mean he didnt get any input on what was going on with HIS IP), but this whole notion that he was extremely angry at the EA/MS deal just seems like something the anti Xbox One crowd would come up with as more ammo for their mud slinging.

I still think they should've developed a single-player story mode.

Just do a good one. OK, they didn't have the capacity to do it, I kind of understand that I guess. Still think it's weird there isn't one.

Same thing with Destiny.

Otherwise, I don't know, I think it should be free to play.

Thats like saying that because a game has only SP that it should be free to play, that doesnt make any sense. If the experience is robust enough, SP or MP it doesnt matter. You don't need both to justify a priced title.

Battlefield is a good example of a game that does not, in any way shape or form, need a single player mode, yet they shoe horn one in. The vast majority of people who pick up BF will go straight to that MP mode. That was their thinking with Titanfall. Why waste the time and money to make a single player mode, when people might, might spend 5-6 hours in it, then run straight to the MP where HUNDREDS of hours will be spent? Its not needed. They deff made the right call tossing that aside and focusing on what they knew was going to be the big draw of the game. Hopefully we see more devs do that in the future, both with MP and SP titles.

If that is the case than the developers are failing on the single player experience and that's something they need to work on improving.

While I don't think a PS4 version was in the works... I do believe that Reagan had intended to work on a PS4 version. The tweets from Despair really made the deal between MS and ED sound dirty and back door.

No big deal for me, at that point I just decided it was best to own both. :p

It's a win for everyone. Ea gets their money, Ms gets their system seller and Respawn gets the ridiculous great support from Ms. They're the best in the business when it comes to promoting and supporting games.

I'm glad it doesn't have a single player. If they knew they couldn't do one than they took the right step in just not doing one. Battlefield is the perfect example, that sp is embarrassing. For 5 they should just not do one.

It does have a story though right? I mean from everything I read it's just always online..Not totally unlike Destiny.. but Destiny can be totally played by yourself.

*sigh*

I really want Destiny.

I'm still not 100% this won't be on the PS3/4 at some point. I know what's been said about exclusivity, but the language of the "lifetime of a title" seems too vague to really be certain to me. I mean, it doesn't matter much one way or the other to me, but the situation seems kind of suspicious to me considering who is involved. I mean, it's not a huge deal to me either way, though. Either I'll get to play it or I won't with whichever next gen console I get.

I'm gonna be really sad when I don't get accepted into the Beta.

It'll probably come to Sonys console around the time the next Titanfall comes out, assuming this franchise goes multiplat(which most expect). It won't be coming to Sonys platform any time before that though. This is more than your standard timed exclusive

I've been watching Titanfall streams non stop. I need this game in my life.

Looks like I may get an Xbox One despite all my grandstanding in regards to the PS4. Gosh darn it.

We'll see

I think it will be at least a year before it hits the PS4, if at all.

Still no Beta key yet..

I think this game looks like a lot of fun. It seems like a smart evolution to the COD style of multiplayer, the traversal stuff in particular is awesome. I will happily play it when the sequel (or the Ultra GOTY Edition) comes to the PS4. :yay:

I want to like this game so much, but all of the gameplay footage has done nothing for me so far. I'm so over the run-around-like-a-chicken-with-your-head-cut-off-and-shoot-people, Call of Duty style of multiplayer. I actually like everything about the game except the part where it's Call of Duty with wall-running. :/

I'm more than willing to give it a shot though. I might pick it up on Steam during the next summer sale and give it a whirl.

Edit: ****. EA game, I forgot. No sale. No Steam. I guess... I'll try Titanfall 2 on PS4 at some point.

Are they charging full price for this by the way?

I don't know. Multiplayer only, minuscule player count? Maybe there's a ton of maps or something.

Edit: Stupid idea. How would they sell DLC?
