It's also a better angle on the scene. The other pics, to me, looked like they were shooting the scene in the middle of a parking lot, not a main street in Smallville.

Seeing these pictures are giving me a vibe similar to the small-town showdown with the Destroyer in "Thor."

They dont work beacuse they make Superman look like a circus freak. He looked ridiculous in those big baggy red briefs in STM and sequels, with those small briefs in Returns and in every live action I've seen. It degrades him and turns him into somewhat of a clown and is quite a big reason why majority of the public (to whome this and all other CBM's are aimed for you/we comic book ˙˙fanboys˙˙are such a minority, we practically dont matter) just cant take him seriously.

He looks ridiculous with all that blue. I'm so sick of people in Hollywood changing the heroes to what THEY think the heroes should look like. It's not there heroes, They are every ones heroes.

From this new Spiderman costume to this crap superman Hollywood constantly tries to change what has been proven to work.

I hope this falls on it's face then maybe we will get a real Superman someday.

A superhero costume on the big screen doesn't have to be 100% accurate as it's comic version. Look at all the past superhero films man, costume changes done to mostly every character and what? They're still recognizable. This can't possibly be a big problem as you're making it out to be, at the end of the day, it's still Superman.

Bottom line, the SR suit didn't look nearly as good on Routh as this new suit looks on Cavill… from what we've seen anyway.

Funny how that works isn't it? I absolutely believe that if it weren't for the fact Snyder and Nolan were attached to this film, the fanboys would be going nuts.
