I saw a couple but it looks like just a picture that was zoomed in on. Maybe a print-screen of holding down the Ctrl button and scrolling up with the scroll wheel of the mouse. I have not seen a good zoomed in photo from those. I guess it is probably impossible because it looks like pictures taken from at least 50-60 feet away with a cellphone of all things.

Like I said earlier, the buckle in that showdown picture looks really muted, and we know from the official picture that it isn't. It just stands to reason that the stuff around his waist is likely not muted either.

I think the belt buckle looks like this. That is what I thought it looked like since I first saw the official picture.

Possibly, but I don't see any black in any of the various pictures out there.

I don't think the belt looks like that, I just think that the belt buckle looks like that, which I think would be sweet. Especially with the belt concept from Flyby where the section of the belt that touches the belt buckle is missing.

Oh, okay. I see what you are saying now. I like that buckle a lot, but I'm hoping for at least the semblance of a belt. If it is broken into seperate elements, I don't mind as it'll give it the look of belt loops. I just want to see what the effing thing looks like. Someone with a high end camera with a telephoto lens, is sure to get a clearer picture soon, unless the Super costume stuff is done for the Smallville parts of the film. In that case we're S.O.L. for the foreseeable future.:csad:

what about the CGI batpod shot?you could say that when he used CGI for a close up shot it looked fake.

i am mean :oldrazz:

That shot was silly regardless if it was CGI. Either way it still got cheer/laughter at the screenings I went to. :yay:

The belt buckle itself looks too much like the Alex Ross version to not be it I think. I am sure that is the look that Snyder wanted for the buckle.

nope this is 2011 and a man running around in an outfit like that is already goofy, but to add external underwear? that just is barf worthy so GO SNYDER 100%

Are you here as a fan or just somebody else talking crap? Already goofy? Why not just go and find a character more to your liking? Seriously I'm not slagging you but why do you care about a character you already find goofy?

I just don't understand this attitude. Think Superman's goofy? Why not stick to Spider-man or whatever?

I rarely comment on stuff like this but that's what I don't get either. Saying stuff like get rid of the cape??.....than what is superman to you then. I agree with you, find another character then, cause what you desrcibe is not superman

Sorry guy, but people walk around like this all the time:

I must admit. It's pretty goofy, but there is a reason for it and that's why they wear it. Now in the case of Superman, it's not so much for safety or for flight, but it does have some sentimental reason. In the Golden and Silver Ages it represented the costume made by his Earth mother that was made from the blankets that came from his home world. That should have a lot of sentimental reason for anyone. I guess in modern times the costume represents his Kryptonian heritage. In any case, he is not necessarily wearing the costume to please folks. He is wearing it to remind himself of where he came from.

QFT!

Superman isn't goofy. I think it's safe to say that for all of us in these boards: Superman is more than a hobby, he is a true part of our lives and an inspiration. At least i THOUGHT it was safe to say.

Lol @ get rid of cape. Superman has an almost Romanesque regal quality when portrayed correctly imo. The flowing red cape demonstrates his heritage to some extent. I'm ok with getting rid of trunks, but whoever talked about getting rid of the cape? NO.

Yea not to single anyone out but theres a few that come on here and say it, most of them are passerbys. Like you said I have an open mind with trunk or no trunks. But saying he looks goofy as an altogether conclusion....I just don't know what to say

This is the perfect response:

GTFOH.

Wow he put some mass on his arms, looks like he paid his dues in the gym. He's a medium/small boned guy, so that makes it all the more impressive. He looks a good 25 pounds of muscle heavier than he did in the Immortals trailer.

Henry Cavill's arms, or more specifically his "guns" are definitely big and they're probably defined though not as much as his build for Immortals filming. It would seems to me that his Superman suit simply enhanced his arm, shoulder and legs. A long time ago, I used to work out in gym alongside some of my friends, two of whom used to participate in competitive body-building (one for abs and other for all overall category). I'm 5' 11'' and have similar arms and build as Henry Cavill, I used to have large upper arms, a slightly under-developed lower limb and a well defined deltoid and shoulder. My chest was slightly larger than Cavill's for the simply reason that I used to bench press for the best part of 7 years. Anyway, I'm happy that Cavill didn't go overboard and that he retained nice proportion, which is important to transfer visually to big screen.

Someone on the internets assured me they will add the trunks in post. No idea why they would do that. Does that make sense to anyone?

Not even a little. This came up in the costume thread. This was my take on it:

There's no way. a) It's a nonsensical reason to spend hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, of dollars, and b) we'd be seeing motion capture trackers similar to the Kryptonian mocap suits on HC's crotch area. Without those it would be even MORE expensive to track HCs movement to add the underwear digitally. It would then have to be done literally frame-by-frame and I can't believe I actually thought about this long enough to come up with reasons beyond "that's ******ed".

It's Friday, I need a beer.

*Though the way HC's crotch has been analyzed in these threads, WB and Snyder may be able to crowd source the work for MUCH cheaper. The zeal with which some people are decrying the lack of trunks around here, I'm sure those people would do it for free! :cwink:
