Was Cavill considered for the role of Green Lantern? I know that he was a contender for Bond, but I haven't heard anything about GL.

I don't think I've ever heard GL rumors for him, Twilight/Superman/Bond for sure. Maybe Batman too but I think he debunked it.

I heard he was on Campbells list of actors for Hal Jordan since he auditioned him for Casino Royale. WB's execs have had their eye on him for Superman though!

WB's, Nolan and Snyder all agreed that Cavill was their Man Of Steel!

Movie sites are reporting that Clark won't have his glasses in MoS because he doesn't have them in these pics. Anyone think they're jumping the gun? Afterall, this is an origin story and in most origins, he doesn't wear the glasses before he moves to Metropolis and becomes Superman.

It's ridiculous either way if you ask me.

True, though it's one thing on stretching the believability of how no one would recognize Clark when he's wearing glasses and another thing perhaps on how no one would recognize him despite the possibility of him having gone through life and seen by many people without it for a good period.

They should probably add something to the disguise of Clark. Either he stands pushing his stomach out and his neck, anything that makes him look chubby and short. I wouldn't be opposed to him wearing contacts either. Contacts not as part of the story, but as part of the actual make up so he does look different. I don't care if they use padding to make him look fatter as Clark. It doesn't have to be explained. I just want him to look different. The audience wont notice that it is contacts or padding. They will just think "Wow, he looks really different as Clark!". Marlon Brando used cotton in his cheeks for Godfather. I wouldn't mind them trying to really disguise him as much as possible by using techniques like that.

I actually never had with a problem with the glasses being unbelievable. It's not just the glasses. He has a whole different demeanor as Clark in Metropolis. Sure he'd get an occasional comparison to Superman, but the general public doesn't even assume Superman has a secret identity.

Besides it's like all the celebrity look-a-likes out there. There are probably other people who look like Superman or claim to be Superman before Clark gets called out.

If they don't have the glasses, he can't work at the Daily Planet with Lois Lane, as a Journalist.

At which point this movie will cease to be a Superman film to me.

I will a) have to call it an AU in order to even watch it and b) be incredibly angry about it for a looooooong time.

But IMO it's a ridiculous fake jump the gun rumour, so

Difference in the situations here though is that unlike a Young Bruce, Clark won't have the luxury of using a mask to cover his face in the near future.lol

That's not the point. What I think they're doing is, instead of having someone else play young Clark like in STM, they're just going to have Cavill play him and make him look a bit younger.

henry just has the perfect combonation of friendly and fierce look to his face which is perfect for supes imo
