Here's the thing, though. It's been established in The Dark World that the Infinity Gems are not in the gauntlet, given that the Tesseract and the Aether are separate from it. Additionally, Sif said something about being dangerous to keep two gems together, and since the Tesseract is already on Asgard, it's safe to assume the gauntlet we saw in Odin's vault doesn't have any real Infinity Gem.
So, the Infinity Gauntlet from the first Thor movie is probably only just a replica or, most likely, a background easter egg that won't hold any value in the future. It wouldn't make sense for Thanos to barge in and take something that isn't the real deal.
No.
When Sif and Volstagg met up with The Collector, they mentioned keeping two "stones" in the same place is not safe. They did not say "gems".
It's pretty clear at this point that the stones are a way of retconning why we saw the Gauntlet with the stones in tact in the first Thor movie. The stones are required to power up the gems, which in turn power up the glove.
