I wonder if he'll have glasses, since he will already have his powers.
Maybe in flashbacks, but that's about it.

My problem with the general masses is they Don't know of all the details on this reboot. And know next to nothing on tom. And seeing the old bad photos of him.
Well you can't expect them to know most people don't read up on all the rumours on forums. I think most of the audience just have Spider-man fatigue Maguire and Garfield were popular in the role so I can understand it's a bit wierd to have a new guy already. I don't really think how exciting having Spidey in the MCU has spread to the GA. I'm really confident after CW people will see what Tom can do and love having Spider-man in the MCU.
Marvel could of stopped some of misinformation about Tom if they had released an actual recent picture with the article but that didn't happen.![]()

misinformation? you mean that people aren't aware of the mole being removed? I haven't really heard any misinformation about him, other than if you count him being called ugly misinformation
Misinformation is probably the wrong word. But when you cast a young guy they change a lot so a recent pic is useful so many of the Tom pics we have seen in the press and over the internet are years old. I don't think it would of been that hard of Marvel to get a recent picture to put on their website.
Supposed uglyness is subjective, I'm not bothered what people think of his looks. I don't even care myself he meets my view of what PP should look like so other than that I really don't care.
The most important trait is that Peter should look a little geek-y and appear to be smart (which he is).I think the thing with Peter Parker is that he's not a Clark Kent type figure in which everyone has an idea of what the character should look like and there's pretty much agreement among the filmmakers, Fans, and the GA.
A character like Peter Parker has had several different looks and has been played by actors who've had pretty different looks from each other.
Some fans prefer the more dashing handsome Romita version which Hammond and Garfield look closer to , while other fans prefer the Lee Ditko more geeky look that Holland and Maguire look like. That's where you get alot of the "he's too nerdy" vs "he's too handsome" stuff.
You have a much wider latitude in casting Peter Parker as far as looks go then casting Clark Kent. There really isn't a Peter Parker look that all fans agree is the definitive Peter Parker look.

That's one of the reasons many people rooted for Butterfield.
Marvel have been known to either send out a bunch of comics, or give actors access to their Marvel Unlimited app, so they can read any for free. Although clearly this isn't always the case - Bernthal for example is doing his own research.
I'd be very surprised if they didn't get Tom well versed on the comics.
Marvel tv seems to be the exception since Cox and D'onofrio didn't get any either
They don't have to, but it's probably recommended. I've heard fanboys go from applauding an actor who says he's never read any of the books since he wants to bring his own take on it to decrying them when they say they've never cracked one.
