Your complaint really doesn't make sense, especially when it's been explained numerous times that everyone has simply been scaled down by two or three inches from their comic counterparts. So Spider-Man is more or less exactly the same height that he would be relative to Thor in the comics. He definitely doesn't look too short next to him but rather exactly right.

If you had a 5'10" Spidey and a 6'6" Thor, he'd still look like "Spider-Hobbit" next to him. It's the same height differential between 5'8" and 6'3".

Ultimate Peter was 5'6. Tom is 5'8. Couple that with the points Dark Raven has been making... and suddenly height is not a problem. Besides, this is Hollywood, they can make actors look taller if need be. Plus, with Tom's height, he'll look better next to the MCU's leading man - Robert Downey Jr. aka Tony Stark.

If you saw Tom and Chris next to each other, and said that one is 5'10" and the other is 6'6", then no-one would question it, because that's exactly how they would look next to each other if they were actually those heights as in the comics. I cannot see how it can be argued that Tom looks too short next to Chris. How tall do people expect 5'10" to actually look next to 6'6"? Something different to 5'8" compared to 6'3"? In fact, Tom is an inch too tall for that height difference.

Oh please. Your immaturity on the matter makes me all the more happy that Tom got cast. Why? Because I can't wait to see him prove you wrong in a year or two from now.

I really don't get why you have such a bone to pick on the matter and why you try to be so demeaning about it either. We all get that you don't like the decision, but you act like Tom Holland killed and mutilated your pet puppy or something.

Hell, I'll be perfectly honest with you. If Rowe had been cast, I wouldn't have been happy. I said for awhile that I planned to leave the forum for awhile if that happened and I meant that. I didn't like the idea of Rowe as Spidey at all and I would have lost a lot of hype from his being cast. That aside, I would've also been leaving because I wouldn't want to rain on everyone's parade.

I know not everyone's happy that Tom got the role. I know some people- a lot of people- wanted Rowe to get it. I empathize that some folks are still disappointed on the matter and I'm really happy at how a lot of folks have been a lot warmer to Tom than I had expected them to be.

HanShotFirst, I understand that you don't like Tom Holland. That's perfectly fine. You don't have to like him at all. I just think that it's a waste of perfectly good energy on your part and that it's probably also emotionally draining from you too.

I hope you change your mind on the matter somewhere down the road though.

I felt sad for Rowe too, but I really appreciated how classy he was in supporting Tom after the announcement. That was awesome for him to do.

Well, according to Rowe, he and Tom are friends in real life. I wouldn't be surprised if he's already thanked Charlie via texting or something in private. Tom's a lot less interactive with the online media than the other candidates were.

Exactly. Besides, Tom isn't even all that short. He's 5'8, and as I've said countless of times before... they can still make him look taller. (I doubt they will though) BTW, you know who else is 5'8? RDJ. You know who's even shorter than that? That's right, mega action star - Tom Cruise.

Except that he isn't short in the MCU. He's the exact same relative height as in the 616, just that everyone has had 2-3 inches taken off them.
