i could live with this for the finale!

I agree, I'd would be happy if that suit is Smallville's Superman suit. Honestly I dont think I want to see him in the traditional tights anymore. Smallville is its own contunity, I hope they do something different then what everyone expects (even though its been announced that he'll be in the suit in the finale).

The issue with the SR suit in Smallville is that it was simply a prop. For those ten seconds of screen time it got to simply make the impact they wanted to see there was a suit. otherwise fans would've complained about that sudden brush off. Their suit hasn't been decided or finalized it seems, and it would have been pointless to rush it to have it ready for a simple prop for the premiere.

As of right now the latest S we've seen is the classic one on the new Blur suit and again on the cape in Homecoming. Whether it is the classic, SR, or Smallville's own custom one they've used before remains to be seen. With the final scene, the shirt rip would be very lackluster to most since we've already gotten one before last season. Doubtful they'd go that route with one already being done. Especially after hinting at the use of a full suit.

I'm still praying arguments like this are right. Not so sure though after seeing an interview with the producers where they are flat out asked if they thought of doing their own version of the suit and they answer that they have but prefered to just link the series with the movie by using the SR suit.
That was one answer that made me cringe. Like at ComicCon when they proudly announced it was the SR they were using.
I don't know which was worse, their happy faces while they proudly announce it or the fans who actually aplaudded it making them feel justified in what they done.
I found confort in seeing Tom Welling go from a happy and smiling face when they talk about the suit, to a worried face when they announce it's the SR suit.
I'm hoping that Tom as executive producer finds a way to convince them to do a classic suit and not that atrocity !

I don't care if now's a modern time with a new generation, you can't mess with the classic, especially after most of the show's fans have invested 10 years into the show, sticking through the best and worst of times.The finale has to have a complete payoff, with a complete tearing to shreds of the "No tights/flights" rule. If not, everything will feel like a complete waste of time.

Haha, that was classic. You could tell he was kept completely out of the blue about them even having a suit, let alone the one used in SR.
