YIKES beautiful ? Are we talking about the same Jeffrey Dahmer?
Cause that was one ugly ass dude lol... Im not gay or nothing but I can clearly say that he was an ugly man... :D
Clearly, you missed the point. A person's attractiveness or lack thereof is not indicative of their mental stability or potential to commit violent crimes. Google Dahmer and read about what he did and how he did it. Then Google Ted Bundy and do the same. These are merely two examples from the real world. If you'd prefer an example from the reel world however, Google "American Psycho" and its star. Then come back and tell us THAT dude isn't a beautiful man. We'll all have a good laugh. :p

Weird, Pat's post wasn't showing up now it is...

It's all good! :D

Now I can.. but that was weird. Pat's post was MIA for a few minutes there.

Christian Bale looks gorgeous in that picture. Is 'American Pyscho' any good?

I find it hysterical personally, and Christian Bale is great in it, as well as great looking (shower scene anyone?) Him expounding on the merits of Huey Lewis & the News while about to kill someone is pretty damn funny lol

I think Tom Welling can pull off anger very well. The scene with Morgan Edge is an excellent example, as is pretty much any scene involving Red Kryptonite. But I don't see anger as a key issue in the Tom-Welling-as-Superman debate. As far as I'm concerned, only four main adjustments need to be made to allow Tom Welling to be an excellent Superman.

1) Apply different make-up to make him look a little older and more experienced instead of younger and more naive as they do on the show.

2) Lose the bangs. Brush his hair back and give him that famous S-shaped cowlick in the front.

3) Let his acting skills bring about the more commanding, confident, and resolved demeanor Superman should have (if he can play both Clark Kent and Kal-El as well as he has, this shouldn't be a problem).

4) Give him a decent costume. Anything resembling the Routh Monstrosity is a real no-no.

None of these adjustments would be at all difficult. The challenge would be convincing TW to put on the suit.

You're a friend for life around here Gegorius. :D

Here's a head-to-toe image fresh out of PhotoShop! Now that's what I'm talkin' about!

Up, up, and away!

I wish people would stop using the classic suit, it's 2006 and it doesn't look right. No offence Gregorius but those just look funny.

There's really only one good reason for the classic costume to change after 67 years...

...Stupidity. :p

And PS: This is AWESOME...

PPS: Rumpuso, American Psycho was an entertaining movie, in a warped kinda way. LOL And Bale is quite the eye candy in the film, so it's definitely worth the price of rental. :D

No offense taken, but I still feel compelled to offer a well-mannered rebuttal.

Classics are classics for a reason. There is such a thing as being TOO contemporary (the Routh suit is a prime example). Look at what the SR designers did to the S-shield. In what I can only assume was a misguided attempt to make it look more up-to-date, they ended up totally butchering it!

Besides, you ain't seen funny until you've seen the costume worn by George Reeves or Kirk Alyn. They look ridiculous!

By the way, here's a mock movie poster I made for a hypothetical flick called "Superman: Emergence."

Maybe it looks good in cartoons & comics, but not in real life, not anymore. That suit can't be used forever you know that. Whoever puts that suit on TODAY, people would just laugh at the guy, lol. We do know that in SV it'll look different, at least the cape did in Season 3 Hereafter.

Oh, I dunno. It's a story about an immortal alien living on earth with superhuman powers. At the end of the day, this IS all just fantasy entertainment. In the real world, the only people that wear skin tight leotards are dancers and circus performers.

...and actors in superhero TV shows and films. LOL

There's no rule that says you *can't* change the suit, but change just for the sake of change isn't a good enough reason AFAIC. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

When it comes to Superman today, it doesn't get much better than this in my most humble of opinions...

And SV is on the right path to get there...

Here's another image of mine. The idea here is to make it look like an ancient prophecy foretelling the appearance of Superman. The background is a parchment-like pattern, and I filtered one of my manips to make it look somewhat like it was painted onto the page. In the spirit of true archaism, I used a font that imitates ancient Roman script and composed the prophecy itself entirely in Latin. Here's an English translation:

In an age when buildings will reach the skies, there will come the last son of a dying race. From the sky shall fall a child who will become a man with powers greater than those of any human of Earth. He will have the strength of a hundred men. Neither blade nor flame shall pierce his skin. Gravity will not keep him on the ground. He will move faster than an arrow from an archer's bow. From his eyes he shall be able to emit fire. He will see what others do not see and hear what others do not hear. He shall be a friend of justice and a great force for good. Earth's greatest champion will come.

What do you think? Is this neat, or am I just a geek?

Absolutely neat, but then I'm probably a geek as well :D .

Reading stuff like that always gives me chills. I think that's where Smallville is gonna blast. We've watched this guy struggle through the last five years in coming to terms with who he is and the ultimate ending is that he is going to encapsulate all that you've said above and more.

It really is the rise to his peak that is gonna make this show go down in history as being the best telling of Superman Begins.

I take it you haven't seen the latest batch of pics.:supes: :supes: :supes: ....either way, why repost that? You know what's going to happen.

Now don't start to talk about it here, if he thinks he's skinny then just let him think that.

I'm surprised that Premiere SR image of Superman holding the planet over his head hasn't been maniped to death in this thread.

We've got enough "super" poses of Tom to keep us busy, besides his head doesnt look right on the other guy's body in the silly looking costume

You're right, the series finale can't come soon enough.

I mean that in a good way..because that's the whole point of the show, right? (At least in my eyes..G&M have 1 shot to NOT screw this up..good luck satisfying everyone)

Still....06' is going to be one hell of a year for Superman fans...can't wait.

Sorry Pickle, I think the movie costume sucks, and dont want to see Welling in anything remotely close to it. It's just an opinion, get over it.
