Tom Welling as Superman

LMAO as if you would say that to his face if you ever got the opportunity.

It's his career, totally his decision as to what he wants to do with it. I'm sure he's not sitting somewhere thinking you're a 'ponce' for not being a charity worker, or a doctor, or whatever it is you don't do. Seriously - grow up.

Gaz

Just to clarify that "little effeminate" man you speak of is 6'4", WELL over 200 pounds, and used to be a construction worker.

It always confuses me when people like to call him sissified. The man's bigger then most of the ABOVE average people walking this earth. He stood next to a WWE wrestler who weighs 326 pounds (Kane) and didn't look like a "little effeminate" man.

But who knows...maybe shapshifter is 7'1" 400 pounds, so his perspective may be warped.

I'm betting on 5'1" 400 lbs myself...

LMAO.

I hate when others like messing with people's hopes on Routh or Welling. It's just a dickish thing to do and doesn't help in anyway.

Speaking of Tom as Supes icons, how many posts do you have to have to be able to have one? (I've looked everywhere for this info and I'm not finding it.)

300 posts...

You need to post nice wallpapers more often.

:D

the hell he isint. he is such a little ponce. its his stubborn refusal to put on the costume that caused me to hate this show so much.
that and
the casting (except Allison Mack, she's great. she should have been Lana, not that fire station **** they have)
the plots
the writing
the costumes (except green arrow)
goddamn show, it had potential.

So what have we learned from this post?

- Well, firstly, Shapeshifter 'hates smallville soo much." Yet has obviously watched every season, considering Green Arrow was just last season.

- Shapeshifter hates the costumes, but loves GA's, so my assumption is he hates real clothes, but loves spandex. *shrug* whatever floats yer boat.

- Shapeshifter seems to believe Tom Welling himself came up with the "No flights no tights" thing.

- Shapeshifter is obviously delusional.

One thing is for sure is that with the writers strike possibly happening at the end of October I am sure we will be hearing crap loads of rumors from many many many various sites :whatever:

last I heard the script was complete and in it's 3rd draft, so I'm not sure what NYT means when they say the script isn't "complete?" The script was turned in back in June, they might mean the screenplay.

Even if the writers do go out early, I'd assume at this point in the game, Miller and Osborne could just step in and finish it where need be.

So they'd basically be pulling a Donner/Mankiewicz writing on Justice League. Writing a lot of the story, but not getting any credit for it.

I love that avatar! screams "superman" to me

Wow, the level of activity in this thread has really fallen off lately. That's either a really good sign or a really bad one. :O

Have you been to IESB? It was NUTS over there last night. I just didn't drag the posts here. Suffice it to say though, the rumors are flying higher than Superman right now. I just hope they're right... :wow:

I've been trying to keep up - but I keep hoping for something *concrete* to be posted.

I did like this post by someone named Dav620 (who I hope doesn't mind that I"m reposting his comment here).

You know what I find odd is this repeated statement that implies Warner Brothers quickly throwing this together, and yet as I recall Superman Returns was running pretty much along the same time line. They started "July-Aug.2004" with Bryan Singer, then casting began, and production went in after the holidays 2004 with filming beginning in spring 2005. The film was set for release 14 months after they started filming, summer 2006. Considering that they are going basically along the same time frame I don't understanding those voicing opposition based on the fact that they keep writing it's being rushed as point of contention when that's not really a valid argument. This film is going to be set for release Summer 2009. Two years seems like more then enough time to do this film, and release it. Take care.

I liked that entry because I keep hearing the same criticism from people ("this movie will be CRAP because they are rushing it!") and I honestly didn't think it seemed like it was being rushed since they've supposedly had at least a preliminary script for quite a while.

I know I for one (and I imagine a ton of others) am just so sick of all the back and forth.
I keep telling myself stay away from the internet...stay away from the internet...news will be announced soon..stay away from the internet....

But what can I say I am a glutton for punishment.

I liked that post too, 'Rene. It was nice to have a little reality confirmation for the whiners who think the film is being slapped together with duct tape and a prayer.

If i have some how missed this in the past bunches of pages I do apologize. THis is a week old after all. BTW i do hope this link i am posting is a bunch of garbage. like i said if its already been posted please disregard.

yeah IESB and a few others have now gone back to say that although things did fall through somewhat, there are still discussions going on

Yeah, that's old DvilDog. Sanchez said a few days later that it was in Welling's camp again. The "he's in," "he's out," "he's in," "he's out," volleys continue. Kinda funny if you look at it from outside the box. Unfortunately, I haven't been "outside the box" since 2003 sometime. LOL ;)

Oh man, I read this quick and almost had a freakin' heart attack! They just announced the full cast for Justice League.... but it's the ANIMATED DTV flick, which is completely unrelated to the live action film being directed by George Miller. Hah! Okay, I'll be peeling myself off the floor now. Interesting cast though. Voices of...

Kyle MacLachlan as Superman
Jeremy Sisto as Batman
Lucy Lawless as Wonder Woman
Neil Patrick Harris as The Flash/Barry Allen
David Boreanaz as Green Lantern/Hal Jordan
Miguel Ferrer as The Martian Manhunter/John Jones
Kyra Sedgwick as Lois Lane
Brooke Shields as Carol Ferris
John Heard as Ace Morgan
Phil Morris as Faraday

The film is expected to have a PG-13 rating and is scheduled for release from Warner Bros. Animation on January 28, 2008.

Also, MTV must have gotten a TON of hits from their first article on casting Justice League because they're fishing for more activity. Might as well give it to 'em, right? Here's the link:

Isn't that information old? It's the New Frontier flick.

Isn't that information old?
Yes and no. According to that article, which is dated today, the FULL cast has just been announced. I'd heard about the film many months ago, but didn't know who all the voices would be (not that I care much 'cause honestly, I don't have much of an interest in it.) But, because I've been scouring the Net for news about the Miller live action film and saw "full cast list announcement for JL," I freaked. LOL

Seriously folks, not to quote a familiar line here, but "the day is coming" [when Warners will announce the full cast for Miller's JL], and everybody better grab onto the side of their desks and hold on tight, 'cause it's gonna be a DOOZIE!!!!! If we knew exactly when the time and day would be, I think we could all prepare better, but we don't. So have a bottle of Tums and a shot of whiskey at the ready. LOL

im a huge smallville fan but i havent seen any of season 6 yet ( i wait for them to be released on dvd,and we get the box sets a little after the usa) and i was just wondering if its been confirmed that season 7 is the last one?

No, I think there will be a season 8. At least Gough and Millar want a season 8, but it won't be confirmed until May I guess. I really want Tom to be Superman in the JL flick. It would be awesome and I really think Smallville will benefit from it next year if people know that Tom is Superman.

i think if he is going to play Supes, itd be great to tie it in to the end of season 7,it might be a bit strange to see him play Superman then go back to playing Clark for more seasons of smallville (as much as i want it to carry on)
