Tom Welling as Superman

I doubt the misinformation was about Welling. I can see them releasing misinformation about the script or some other aspect, but to release misinformation that would cause headaches for Gough and Welling? I don't think so.
I agree I think the misinformation is more about the script or the CGI. They (WB) never said anything about casting Welling that was IESB and fan rumors. What could be misinformation though is Routh and Bales involvement or many other things.

It took yours truely to get a new update from Sanchez :woot:

Okay here is what I believe is happening

1. Welling has been cast

2. WB has notifed all the "popular" internet movie sites, ie SHH, SMHP, Moviehole, Chud, IESB, Dark Horizons, Blue Tights that they cannot talk about the casting of Welling...YET

3. Gough is pissed and wants to throw people off the trail.

4. Welling is legally obligated not to say anything as well.

I told him Falcor is watching him lol:woot:

Oh and ARFO!

WB has not contacted me or any other site, we're just idling right now.

Waiting and waiting, FYI, there was some misinformation that the studio was releasing early on. Don't know what exactly but there was.

To believe, or not to believe. :ninja:

I doubt it as well considering just last week Sanchez said on the boards that Welling was still talking to WB. then again as I said earlier in this thread, he may have been guilty of playing to his audience

I choose to believe Robert but then again he said this is what BELIEVE is happening

On a side note what do you think about the new

Two things.

1. I think its terrible and it looks like Ross just ripped off his own Spider-Man movie costume he designed. Look at it and it's almost exactly the same.

2. Wrong forum.

Yea I know I just wanted to see what the SV fans thought and since most don't go out side this forum then I just thought I'd bring it up. But yea it does look like a mix between the Spidey Outfit and McG's outfit for his Superman.

By the looks of Muscles post, Robert did post that. Didnt he??

No he did not. I looked at IESB just now that post was muscles posting at IESB what HE thought was happening. Robert said none of that. Robert replied to that & basically said he was waiting like everyone else. Robert said nothing about Welling being 100 % cast. That was all muscles.

http://www.iesb.net/index.php?optio...=view&id=1797&catid=20&limit=6&limitstart=654

& since Robert is still not saying anything is for sure except the fact that Tom Welling was still talking to the WB last week I would rather believe Robert then muscles since Robert is a bit more believable then muscles but thats just me

Robert:

Lets be very clear about what has happened. At first news was very easy to get on Justice League, we nailed the fact that the studio wanted it for 2009, that it would have a early 2008 start date (pre-strike), which characters were in the film, parts of the storyline including the death of one of the heroes, i'm sure by now everyone know who was going to die, right?

Even the early reports that WB was looking at mo-cap, which Variety confirmed.

even when I confronted David Slade about his involvement on JL, he confirmed it, we didn't report on Slade early because we were asked not to but this was all info from my sources, all 100% right regardless what a couple haters keep on saying.

Tom Welling was also given to me by the same source which I confirmed with multiple people at WB.

Even Clint Morris over at Moviehole, who is producing a handful of movies, heard rumblings about Tom. The Gough/Millar thing came from the same camp, was it BS? I find it very unlikely.

Regarding Countingdown.com's source, I have talked to her and I am pretty confident that her sources are solid.

What is going on right now? I don't know, we have been super busy on tons of other films that we have to report on. That whole IndyGate photo thing took up plenty of my free time last week plus the visit to the Indy set and Amblin offices to talk to Spielberg was very hectic.

I am trying very hard to find things out right now but I am running into a dead end.

Things might change soon and hopefully someone cracks. I am planning on taking out a few WB friends next week for drinks and if nothing has been confirmed or announced I will try to pry something from them at that time.

like I mentioned last week, I have been told my multiple WB contacts that I have pissed off a few execs, oh well, its my job to try to get news.

WB was really pissed off at us, Chud and a few others earlier in the year because between us and a few sites we had broken the entire cast of Watchmen and they were planning this big thing over at Comic Con.

I think that they are trying to avoid that all over again.

We will keep digging.

Y'know, they could avoid ALL of this nonsense by just freakin' announcing the g'damn cast. But maybe that's too easy? I dunno.

I thought Captain America was dead?

WB obviously has spoken to the right people to keep whatever is happening with this movie quiet. Whether they found the leaks and plugged them or have spoken with the webmasters on sites like IESB, remains to be seen.

My opinion is that WB is planning a big release of this news and is goi to Hype it up, most likely a press release given to all sites to release when they deem it time.

I think WB got ticked off at Rob for going on live television and announcing that Welling was going to be Superman in JLA while he was still in negotiations, that set of a chain reaction on all the major movie sites reporting Welling as Superman. The problem is the negtiations fell through, and it is also possible this was going on behind Gough's back, and once he heard and got involved the negotiations were then killed.

That is all speculation, just one scenario. I think it's also possible that Welling was simply in talks and it didn't work out contractually for whatever reason, that happens all the time in Hollywood. No fault of anybody in particular.

that sounds plausible as well. hopefully thats not the case

So basically we are not going to hear anything until the WB announces the cast? What is that a 2 month wait? sigh....

Well, Routh wasn't announced till October 20th, and that was just one guy. We might not get anything till November.

Apparently they want to announce everyone at the same time. Like Routh, your going to get mixed reactions with Welling if he is cast so I am assuming that they are trying to get a great supporting cast around him (Routh or Welling) to take away the people's doubt.

My god, it is always toward the end of the week that we hear news it might be next week. Not knocking Robert or anyone else, but jeez...what a mess this has been.

Showtime...that scenario does sound like a very good possibility.
