im sure this will be the final smallville season. i can't wait to see clark in the suit in the finale. i have to admit this season is awesum so far.

I think they'll just show him doing the shirt rip at the end, which IMO would be way better than see him walking around in the suit. Make it like Superboy.

I know its a debate as old as the Welling vs Routh. But, do we really know that he doesn't want to wear the suit? Most of this comes from his first interviews on the show about not wanting to wear the suit in season one since the show was about him BEFORE he became Supes. But, after 8 seasons and the show going way beyond what anyone else thought it would go. He might not be against it. Since it would show the natural progression of the character.

I also think this ties into the "no flight, no tights" comment from the producers. When they made that statement. The show hadn't even started and they were trying to set the show apart from every other Supes incarnation. Again, I think that only in their wildest dreams would the show last 8 seasons. It would only makes sense that after this long both flight and tights might have to come into play.

well yes it was true during the early years of the show like season 1-5 he has come out and said he doesnt want to wear tights and all that. But with the way the show has changed direction this yr and him in a much happier place on where clark kent character is going. Maybe he is willing to done some suit of costume, probably still not full on tights but maybe jacket/pant costume deal like jl characters have.

No need they're Pro Routh over there, besides those polls always end up closed, or people like myself get placed on time out / Banned for debating why Routh sucks and Welling rocks.

Welling receive more love and respect as Superman in public opinion than the guy who actually portrayed anyway. LMAO!

It doesn't matter if Routh beats Welling in one poll, because from what I can tell, the general consensus is that Welling is a much better Clark/Supes/Kal-El than Routh, and it's true. No matter how much you liked Returns, Singer tried too hard to make Routh like Reeve, and there's only one Chris Reeve. Smallville never dreamed of imitating past performances, and that's why the characters work so well.

People may think Welling is a horrible actor or that Smallville is horrid (mainly because of changes from the comics) but if he went to the big screen, it'd be one of those thing where I bet once they show the trailer, everyone who wasn't a fan starts to act as if they never doubted him.

I'm all for Welling being Superman, but only if Smallville is over by the next Superman movie. He's got the experience, the look, and everything else.

well most reports have indicated that welling is or has signed for a 9th, we are just waiting from cw end if they want to keep the show. Which we and the producers need to know within the next few weeks since episode 18 is due to be filming in a few weeks and the producers have said before they need to know cw's decision on a 9th or not for the last few episodes.
