Tom Welling as Superman

EDIT: muscles got the quotes first...

That guy should double check his posts for spelling and grammar, but maybe the info that Robert is checking on is whether Tom is still in the running not why the negotiations broke down...

Although, them relaunching MOS with Tom in the suit might be a stretch, I'm not sure I buy that but if they are looking for Tom to help reboot Superman as a franchise, that might be accurate.

Things to ponder anyway....

Cool pastime for the time being.

You know, if true, this makes sense as to why IESB kept reporting that "Man of Steel" is still in the pipeline. Who says "Man of Steel" has to be a SR sequel?! If JLA does as well as people expect (with Welling in the role, that is), then "Man of Steel" could be WB's attempt at a rebooted Superman franchise.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Maybe they'd use the name and ditch using the continuity from SR....

Not sure Tom's supes would fit into that universe, if they're going into a more comic oriented universe they'd have to change a lot from how things were and looked in SR.

Maybe they'd use some of the sets if they still exist down under, but the somber look and feel of SR wouldn't fit into a more broad Comic-centric universe. Especially if they're going to build off of the JLA film with OMACs and world wide conspiracies to destroy meta-humans and take over the world...

They won't cast Welling in a Superman Returns Sequel if that is what they mean by MOS.

Not sure where the more comic thing came from I dont even see Smallville even closely as a comedy. LOL ok dumb a s s here I see what ya mean more like the Comics. Duh wow I am a idiot i need more coffee.

Plus it would make sense, let JLA have a diff Supes, make MOS a reboot and have it start filming in 09 for a 10 release!

I would prefer him in both JLA and any new Superman movie just have one Supes. As for what I posted way back this is possible only have Clark written in half the episodes of Smallville as the ones he is not there he could be away in show helping Green Arrow. This way Kara can take care of things in Smallville and also be a good judge for her own solo series.

If Millar and Gough are the reason Tom does not get the role of Superman I swear as much as I love watching Smallville I'll never watch it again. To me those guys are just being pricks if they keep Tom from doing it. I wont watch anything those two have their hands in if this is the case.

LOL!

Yeah, I meant "comicbook-centric"...

:D

Go get some caffeine in you and you'll be okay.

;)

Dont be sad. Its not a big deal. :)

It may not be just their doing. However, the thing I dont get is, they keep saying that Tom is contracted for an 8th Season of Smallville, but this JLA movie is supposed to film between Feb and July. It would interfere with Tom's Season 7 commitments, moreso than Season 8.

What would be funny is if it was Welling and Routh posting the rumors. ;)

And on that note. I really hope Welling does get the role. :D
