Tom Welling as Superman

This is just too bizarre. Jayne updated her last post with the following:

Jayne said:
www.JusticeLeagueOnFilm.com says Al Gough personally denies it as "utter bull $@#%" and that he has never even been approached by WB. The latter has been contradicted by many websites over the past 2 months.

So what is really going on?? Are we (by this I mean myself, IESB, and other sites) being lead on like puppets?? Even IESB said it was confirmed this week Welling was still in talks. Is Al Gough just pissed that things keep leaking out?? We'll just have to wait and see.....My personal opinion, he's doing what Singer did when Valkyrie and Castro Street leaked. Deny..Deny...Deny....
Y'know, if any of these people (Jayne or Sanchez) were fly-by-night posters with absolutely no history to their names, I'd say this WAS indeed all just BS. But Sanchez has been around the block for quite a while. He's not making this stuff up. And I don't think Jayne is either. So WTF? Why would this be some elaborate ploy? And not fer nuthin', but why the hell is Gough only talking to JLOF? And why the hell is anybody talking to Gough at all? What's Warners got to say about this? And finally, if it DOES turn out to be true (Welling cast in JL), what the hell is Gough going to say then? He's sounds pretty adamant. Or at least JLOF make it sound that way.

There are really three possible scenarios here.

*Jayne and Rob have been getting info from sources in the same circle who have been leading them the wrong way.
*Jett has competely fabricated the interview.
*Gough is lying out of anger that it is happening or to cover it up.

Deny. Deny. Deny. Spin. Spin. Spin.

Remember when Ratner was working on Superman, and there were rumors everywhere that WB was going to fire and replace him with Bay? Ratner even went to Variety to deny it. He also said Bay was never in talks and that he was in pre-production on the film. A few weeks later, Ratner was let go. WB did want Bay, but he passed.

My point is that until something is official, the parties involved will deny everything.

So....I dont believe Gough.

Somewhere down the line, this is all going to backfire in a big ugly way, and it's going to be Warner Bros. that looses in the end. Jayne is a nobody (no offense to her) and Sanchez reports on plenty of other things - the JL stuff would be forgotten in short order. But if Warners just did this in order to manufacture false buzz, I will personally do my DAMNEDEST to tell people NOT to see the film. And y'know what? I won't be the only one. This is a load of bull. They're going to get burned in the end if it's true. I hope they're prepared for it.

I agree, Show. It's one of the above. BTW - that's not Jett. It's the other guys - the nobodies, which makes me wonder.

4. Gough is telling the truth, and is not getting people's hopes up by being brutally honest about it. This is the 2nd time he's said this. (assuming the interview is real....but why would Jett fake an interview? His problem is with the Batman side of JLA...not Supes)

If it turns out not to be true, and if I was Welling, I would be hurt and angry over everything. Could he sue WB for using his name like this if true?
Whats the term for using your name falsely in print? Liable?

And....if it turns out everything was a lie, is Sanchez career over?

EDIT: I mistakingly thought it was a site run by Jett, but its starting to seem like its not.

Noted too all above and I agree...but wait that wasn't a link to Jett, it was from the other Justice Leage on Film? Hmm.

That is indeed a scenario as well, which I left out. I don't think it's Jett, it's that other bizzaro site.

I reiterate, that's not JETT's site. It's some flybynight nobodies that I've never heard of. It's not even SHP - and we know how much Younis likes to pick up the phone and bug Al Gough over this sort of stuff. Why is Gough even talking to these nobodies? Could it be is all BS?

Seriously folks, this is just nuts. Sanchez himself called Gough's reps and they told him to call the PR dept. Why not just deny it outright? And Jayne called Welling's reps and they told HER "no comment."

Something is AWFULLY fishy here, and it stinks.

justiceleagueonfilm.com is some no-name site. And how would he know Gough's number? And why would Gough talk to him?

I dont trust that site at all.

I contacted Steve.

I don't believe anything anymore. It's regoddamndiculous. I'm not sure why Jett has a JL to Film site all by itself. Sure, he said he'd cover it because Batman is in it, but he is adamantly against the movie from happening, so I don't understand why he is making a seperate website for it. It would be strange to run a website for a movie you are adamantly against.

Probably the same type of reason people who disliked a movie long after it premiered can't stop talking about it....in the end, you're just a fan. And you're going to talk about it regardless.

Plus, he does have contacts within Warner....

Pat, dont put your plate of crow away just yet.

Remember, its not over till the fat lady sings. :)

Bleh....if that isn't Jett's site, I wouldn't put any stock in it. Sounds like an angry anti-Welling rant.

It's not Jett, it's the other guys.

Pat said it, the nobodies....

If he'd wanted to dispute it publically, he'd talk to Craig over on KryptonSite.

KryptonSite is the biggest Smallville fan web page out there and they would have a lot larger readership to see it there rather than that site.

I'm not sure I buy this, the tone of the quote is the quote makes it sound made-up to me.

I've heard that Al has a bit of a temper, so maybe him blowing his top to a nobody site like this might be possible but I find it unlikely.

Temper or no, I don't buy someone like him losing their temper in an interview with a no-name webmaster.

I was so confused, isn't Jett's section on JLA under the same name as this rogue site?

I contacted Steve.
Good! This ought to be interesting.

The hell you talking about Pickle? Who has contacts within Warner? And complaining about a movie after it's opened aint nuthing new, especially when some people thought it sucked while others still want them to do a sequel.

Pat, dont put your plate of crow away just yet.

Remember, its not over till the fat lady sings. :)
Oh trust me, I aint putting nuthin' away just yet, because nuthin' is "real" until the fat lady sings. I will have my 12 gauge ready if she's out of tune though. :p

So where did this random Justice League site come from?

The hell you talking about Pickle? Who has contacts within Warner?

I was talking about Jett, before someone said it wasn't his site. And I wasn't necessarily talking about a certain film. It's a very basic statement for any comic book film or summer flick....

And complaining about a movie after it's opened aint nuthing new, especially when some people thought it sucked while others still want them to do a sequel.

People who dislike a flick, will talk about it for a long, passionate time. It's been that way since I can remember. People don't just let things go. Which is why I stated that, I believe Jett made his own website because he is going into JLA already not liking it for personal reasons, but will cover it anyway..maybe even to spin things as he sees fit, who knows.

And about that last part you wrote, i don't quite follow what you are inferring with the sequel talk.

Anyway, this is all moot IMO, maybe SHP can contact Gough again. Till then, that Gough rant holds about an ounce of weight.
