Keep forgetting he's in that movie. Looks like he's playing one of the Browns players. Poor guy ;)

Spotted this on Google earlier, cool 'what could have been' pic. He actually suits the suit, so to speak.

Tom Welling is a well polished actor. The way he showed up acting skills in Smallville for more than ten years is highly appreciated and up to the mark. Even after 10 years his legacy is still alive. However, Henry Cavill paid true justice to the character, but still TW should be in that role. Good Luck Tom!!

you are here on earth to help poor and helpless people from them who try to harm them and every one now wants to be like superman due to his dedications for hopeless people now there are many ways to get up like superman only to get superman costume so now be ready to look like your most favorite superhero.

P.S Am I the only one who think of TW, Whenever I see the New 52 t-shirt and jeans look?

You're definitely not the only one. Grant Morrison specifically stated in interviews that one of the main inspirations for the young New 52 pre-cape Superman was Smallville.

I can't remember the last time I read these threads (never mind posted in them LOL) but I happened upon a nice little warm and fuzzy that I thought folks here would find interesting.

Last year Tom Welling had a small roll in the independent film, PARKLAND. Based on the book "Four Days in November," the story follows the events that immediately followed the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas Texas on November 22, 1963.

Director Peter Landesman recorded a commentary track for the DVD and had this little nugget to offer about TW as he was introducing the actors and the characters they played:

"Tom Welling is the President's bodyman - his personal bodyguard, 'Roy Kellerman.' Just a fantastically strong and powerful presence. I wanted his years of playing young Superman on Smallville aside the small screen television. I love Tom, I love his presence, I love his ferocity. And his job is so singular - it's just to protect the President's body."

So if that's the kind of typecasting Welling has had to deal with post Smallville, I'd say he's in a pretty good place. :)

PS: Holy shi... I've been a user here for 10 years? That's bleepin' nuts. LOL

Seeing these photoshop pics is only a look at what could have been if TW played a full Superman. With Henry Cavill doing a better job, I'm over TW not wearing the full suit.

As for life after Smallville, I'd love to see TW play one of the Duke boys from the Dukes of Hazzard or a Terminator.

Yeah, I think the days of fans petitioning for Welling to play Superman in the movies are gone. That boat has long sailed. Still cool to see what he could have been like in the suit if SV had done it properly though.

I could buy him in a Dukes role and it would be a nice nod to his onscreen SV father, John Schneider. Not sure about a Terminator though, I think Tom has too much of a nice/good guy look about him for it.

I'd actually like to see him in a proper action/thriller movie, maybe playing a Bourne-type agent or the like. Something with decent fights and plenty of physicality. He's a big guy, and still young enough and well built enough to be convincing in a role like that.

It's been a while, hasnt it, old friend? :D Hope you're doing well.

When will people realise that boat has sailed. I doubt Welling would even want to do it anyway.
