Tom Welling confirms Season 10 is the last !

Hardly newsworthy considering the producers announced they'd only 2 seasons worth of story left to tell at last years comic con, 1 being season 9 & 2 being season 10..

This does seem like more of a cast/production decision, as opposed a Network decision. I'm sure CW would have easily wanted to stretch SV out for more seasons..

I mean "7th Heaven" got 11 frigging seasons on this network (when it was The WB). I can't even begin to rationalize the logic behind that.

But I'm glad the cast/production are calling it quits ahead of time.

I'm glad they've picked an end point... as much as I liked Salvation and some of the episodes running up to the end of the season, it seemed a bit rushed toward the end of the season.

With an end point in mind, it will give them the chance to have the strongest season yet.

It's time for the show to end as well. Clark is so close to being Superman, he needs to move on but so does Tom.

He needs to do movies and do more producing.

I know Al/Miles have gotten more than their fair share of butchering Superman ad the rest of the DC universe, but I think they deserve a lot of credit for just making this show, a show about Clark Kent's journey towards Superman, possible. And with that said, I think the current producers deserve a whole lot of credit too because, even though Al/Miles sort of abandoned ship at a time where the future of SV wasn't completely clear, they stepped in and put in a pretty damn good effort. I am more than confident that now that they don't have to worry about things back for future seasons, they will break out completely and make this last season as best as it can be.

Plenty still watch it. My wife and I get together with several friends for our weekly Smallville night on Fridays. Dinner and Smallville makes for a great night. :D

I do this too, haha. That said, Anybody think they'll reintroduce Lex for the final season arc?

well im glad they figured this out before the season starts that way they can tie up some lose ends rather than just having 2 different finales. Anyway i hope Welling doesnt quit acting after the show ends.

Well, it's about d@#% time!:wow:

No, I mean seriously, we've been teased for 9 years now and now the writers have no more excuses or stalling to do! I hope this pushes Brian and Kelly to give us an awesome final year! One lining up to the Superman teaser from "Salvation", give us, flight, tights and wrap this thing up nicely! 10 seasons truly is enough, I mean originally, Smallville was only meant to last 5 seasons, but kept on getting picked up and the writers had to keep stalling in the meantime. With an end date now set, this season might get the most Clark focus we've gotten in some time. Let's hope they end the series with a bang!

it's like the past 9 years was foreplay and now season 10 will be one long orgasm...

Geez Showtime and the other mods better go ahead and put some rules in place now or it is going to be WWIII. I bet there are alot of fans that have been biding there time since 2006 for this moment. :cwink:

I'm sure the 4 people left who actually remember who Routh was will be easy to keep in line ;)

Yep! And normally he's so quiet... ;)

Well, I would say to still pay attention tomorrow...you still may hear a few more...interesting things...

:word:

Do you know something we don't brotha? ;)

Oh I'd LOVE it if to keep the show going for another few years they actually consider the "Doctor Who" concept

Have the main character regenerate into another actor

and that actor would be Brandon Routh.

I can't be the only one wanting them to give Green Arrow his own spin-off, with Black Canary, Speedy, and heck even Chloe as his supporting cast. Move them to Edge City and keep that universe going.

Heck, they can even have Tom and others from the JLA/JSA cameo.

Hi, Jack! Missed you. Looking forward to possibly hearing some more interesting things. Knowing the series has a set end date is enough to make me happy.

Don't worry. Your not the only one. :oldrazz:

It's about time. I love this show and season 10 is the right time too end it.

I'd really love to believe that this announcement means that there will be no more God awful filler episodes this season, but I cant help but worry... at the very least, the number should go down considerably from previous seasons.

yup hopefully with end date picked they will form everything around it and get things going to the end. cant wait to see how things go for tenth season.

I'm glad that they're going into season 10 knowing it's the last. I love the show but they're really dragging things out at this point and it has hurt the show IMO. I can't wait to see what they have in store. Hopefully Johns' influence will allow them to really go all geektastic this year!

I can't wait for whatever announcement may come at SDCC. Since it always falls on my birthday weekend I'm hoping for an awesome "present" this year.

yea hopefully they will be able to be full out superman like season sure we will probably not have him called superman to the last episode. But they should be able to do pretty much anything with the superman end of dc characters and all that. Also i really hope cw will at least try to promote the show a bit better and tag on the final season/last episodes thing so that could draw more viewers. now it would be nice if we got a better day. But i doubt its moving from friday's.
