Poll is coming soon.

Feel free to merge with the box office thread. :yay:

Definitely more than $200 mil...but I still feel HP will be the factor that hinders TF from making more than $230.

I think it will make 130 million in the first week then go on to make 250 m.

Usually big blockbusters do double what they make in the first week.

220-240 for me a well...I think people there is gonna be a very big rush at the top, but I think it is the type of movie that will sustain because it will say in many reviews/word of mouth 'This is one of the types of movies you have to go see on the big screen'...

I think it will be lucky to hit $200 million domestic. I see it doing closer to $180 million

I'M GONNA GO OUT ON A LIMB AND SAY $280M+,:o WHAT CAN I SAY, I'M AN OPTIMIST!!!:oldrazz::D:up:

Since none of it's revenue is going to IMAX showings I think 240+ , but if IMAX happens then I say 180 since IMAX hurts the regular domestic total

280+

Lots of that from repeat viewing from people who think that the action went too fast. They want to see it again to catch the stuff they might have missed.

I'm gonna go on a very big limb here and say $280+ million. I just have a feeling.

Are you basing this on the HP competition? Because the tracking for this movie has been phenomenal. Fantasymoguls.com's first forecast was $240 but they've since bumped it up to $330 after watching the movie.

What I don't understand is, these websites like Fantasymoguls. Are they pretty much just guessing these numbers from the looks of advertisement, trailers and general public reaction to them? Or are they a little more professional and waiting for ticket presales to factor in?

it's one of those movies that can go either way. still, i'd say it'll make 280+

Sandwiched in between Die Hard and Harry Potter it's tough to tell. Die Hard will either suck or be a Dark Horse and be massive. Harry Potter, the same. Transformers might have a huge opening and then quickly fizzle out after all the fanboys have seen it. Only time will tell.

Last time I checked on Rottentomatoes, DH4 had a good number of reviews already and is at around 74%.

It's 83% now. That's outstanding. That doesn't always translate to ticket sales... but it bodes well for Die Hard 4.

27 fresh, 5 rotten. Not too bad so far.

I was not planning on seeing Die Hard. But those reviews sound freakin great. I'm going on Fri. It'll be cool to see how Transformers stacks up next week.

I still say Transformers will be top 3 in domestic gross when this year is over.
Potter will rake in right around $250 million no matter what Transformers or Die Hard does.
