I was not planning on seeing Die Hard. But those reviews sound freakin great. I'm going on Fri. It'll be cool to see how Transformers stacks up next week.

Any word on the running time? Is Fox going to diminish the quality of another one of their property rights by decreasing the threatrical run time by 30 minutes like they always do?:oldrazz:

I would really like to know how Die Hard 4's budget compares to Transformers. I've seen some of the action sequences for that film and I'm convinced there is no way that Fox could keep that budget under 100million with those special effects and Bruce's contract negotiations. This film should have a similar budget to transformers and it should bomb.

What? Why should Die Hard bomb?

If it's budget is 150million and it has only 2 days without competition then I don't see how it's possible for it to make back the budget with the final domestic gross. If it had one weekend alone then anything would be possible but, this movie has a crappy release date and Transformers comes out 5 days after it's release. I can't see Die Hard 4 making much over 70million domestically. It will need a fantastic foreign gross for Fox to immediately see a profit.

I'm not saying you're wrong. But it's getting pretty rave reviews. It could surprise you. Definately gonna be an interesting weekend.

I've heard nothing but terrible things about it.
And those previews look RIDICULOUS.

Die Hard 4? It has taken a dip since I last looked, when it was 83%, but a 75% rating is still a pretty darn high avg at rottentomatoes. Also, critics reviews have started to trickle into Yahoo and so far it's a B: which is also pretty darn good.

Beyond that, the actual content of the reviews that I've read so far are pretty interesting.

BTW, Harry Potter opens in Japan TODAY? Man! Openings are all over the place lately! Is this like strategic manueverings on the part of the studios?

You are right that it's gotten good reviews however, most of the reviews I've read suggest that despite having great action and a decent storyline this film should have been made a while ago.

Transformers will beat Harry Potter domestically, but Harry Potter will soundly beat Transformers in world wide sales.

Transformers = $308 million domestic. That's my final answer, and I'm sticking to it.

I'm thinking it'll gross between the 220-240 range. I hope I;m wrong through. I would love to see it over 300 mil. And wouldn't it be awesome if it grossed more than the big 3 and became the #1 film of 2007. Well, I can dream right. :yay:
