Both had Megan Fox. Both had Robots. Both had explosions. This is a tough one.

While I thought parts of the plotline seemed a little strained, I liked this movie better. They once again had amazing CGI and with the fight scenes in particular. A lot of the specific moves they were using were pretty detailed and added a lot to the film, IMO.

The first 2 thirds of this one were better but the last third of the first was better IMO.

I need to watch TF1 again before answering.

But The Island seems like the best choice.

ROTF.

Had what I wanted. More Megs, Starscream, their bickering, a badass Optimus etc.

The 2007 Transformers by a mile.

Louder and longer does not equal better.

The Island and The Rock.
I havent watched ROTF yet

Transformers by far. ROTF is just a gigantic slap in the face while getting kicked in the stomach. I think what really killed this movie was the cheese that kept coming out of Shia and Megans mouth and the diarrhea characters of the Twins and Sam's parents.

One notable mention for ROTF: CGI.

ROTF did waste to the entire Terminator series with one decepticon that changed into a sexually active Hottie

At the moment, I honestly couldnt say, on initial viewing i thought ROTF was better. but Tf1 had awesome things ROTF didnt, and vice-versa, I will need another viewing of ROTF to decide.

Watched both at a double showing tonight and I can savely say that Transformers 1, IMO, was better.

I like them equally at the moment. We'll see how I feel when I see them both again this week.

The first one has the fresh aspect on its side for me, seeing Transformers on the big screen for the first time. The second one has scope and Optimus badassery on it's side.

Transformers was better. The film juggled comedy and action better than this film, and none of the characters came off as forced or annoying like a few did in RotF. Both are flawed structurally, but Transformers has more to offer and makes up for it more so than RotF does.

I liked both films . Each film had something the other didn't .
