I guess your the leading authority on the subject? :whatever:

See Hollywood has us ( or should i say some of you) all brainwashed, into thinking we need a 'window into a world we might not necessarily know'. We need to see the TF's through the eyes of someone else.

I think they needed to take that approach with the first film because they had to introduce what is, when it comes down to it, an absurd concept to the general audience. It helped ground the film. And while I believe that in TF2, the Autobots and Decepticons definately need to be developed more as characters, I don't think it would be wise to completely disregard the human perspective.

Agreed 100%, the humans had to be prominant in the first movie IMO, so we could relate to them and not get bored of the robot action, but want more, and it seems to have worked.

I am worried about the amount of human characters we seem to be getting in TF2, but i imagine it will be longer than the first movie, and we have been promised from the start there will be more robot scene's, whether it be fighting or them just talking.

See, I'm not really that concerned about that at this point. Going back to that one alleged TF2 casting call, it was stated in it that most of the human characters listed were only going to appear in one scene.

It's amazing how moronic that post was. You REALLY don't know how good movies are made.

What's moronic is that you seem to think any movie that doesn't have a human perspective is NOT a good movie.

Your kinda thinking lends into the typical Hollywood mind set:

Most Ppl are too dumb; so lets dumb down any complex ideas we had; so that everyone will get it; which will equal to more seats in the theaters; which equals to more money for us. :down

Wouldn't it be more interesting, and original to see Earth through the eyes of the TF's? The way they pronounce words, the way they see things that we take for granted. What was interesting about the comics was that when the TF.'s crashed landed on Earth in the comics, they thought 'Earth's vehicles' were the dominant specie of the planet, because they were everywhere, and learned only later that it was us humans that ran Earth; isn't that an original and clever point of view?

Wouldn't that be much more interesting and cutting edge, than the same old generic Hollywood formula, of making the stars of the movie actually the side kicks, or the co-stars...?

All this BS just because Avangarde X said that he liked Sam. :whatever:

Orci on Transformers 2, Trek
Writer names new Transformers for sequel, and talks Kirk and Spock's origin.
by IGN Movies

May 16, 2008 - Screenwriter Roberto Orci is a busy guy. His recent script credits include Transformers, Star Trek, and J.J. Abrams' new series, Fringe. And right now he's cranking out Transformers 2. We interrupted Orci's intense schedule yesterday to ask what's in store for the next installment in the robots in disguise franchise, and about his experience working on Trek. Here's what he told us...

Q: What's the status of Transformers 2?

ORCI: That starts shooting in three weeks.

Q: What do you want to do that builds from the first one?

ORCI: We want to follow some of our lead characters which we thought were so successful. Shia's character; where is he two years later? His girlfriend, where is she two years later? But for fans, I guess I'll address this more for the fans, because I think if you didn't know Transformers at all and you came in and you liked the first movie, you'll like the second one. However, some of the die hard fans, which we were a member of that group, felt, well, maybe it's a little light. Maybe it wasn't science fictiony enough. And I think the second one will deliver on a true Transformers story. You know, the first one, we had a limited budget for what it was. Every second of Transformer time is a million dollars or whatever the heck it is, so this time, because we were able to prove through the whole thing that it's a viable live-action movie, we have a little more freedom this time to actually learn about the Transformers, see them, hear them. It's a better balance between the humans and the Transformers.

Q: Is there one particular Transformer, good or bad, that you absolutely had to get into the sequel?

ORCI: Yes.

Q: You're not gonna tell us.

ORCI: I'll tell you. We had to get Soundwave in there.

Q: Nice. Where Soundwave goes, will Ravage follow?

ORCI: Perhaps! Who's Ravage? ... I'm kidding! You know, we had Ravage in an early draft of the first movie and Soundwave, and we couldn't do it right and I think this time hopefully we'll have the ability to do it.

Sry if this has been covered, which am sure it has, but is Megan Fox not returning, she being replaced?

I've not seen anything for her returning or leaving.... but with the number of hot women that Bay has 'cast' already some people assume that Fox has been culled from the cast.

See, I'm not really that concerned about that at this point. Going back to that one alleged TF2 casting call, it was stated in it that most of the human characters listed were only going to appear in one scene.

I hope that is the case, its also likely this movie will be longer than the first one, so that means more time for the TF's anyway.

Yea it seems nuts that he wouldn't take it to further his career.

And two :up: to Soundwave confirmation!

Can you say Arcee? I bet this scene is for when she scans her earth mode.

Go Riding with the Transformers!
Date : May 16, 2008 Writer : "Caffeinated" Clint Morris ShareThis

Sounds like those robots-in-disguise might be chasing down some bikers?

A casting call just arrived in my inbox advertising for a “female motorcycle rider” to do a days work on “Transformers”.

This “Very Attractive Female Actor Under 30 Years Old” must “have extensive experience/training in riding motorcycles”.

The actress would be a day-player.

Another Transformers 2 Casting Call
Source: The Butnakedavenger
May 21, 2008

Heery Casting has posted a second casting call for Transformers 2. This time they are only looking for SAG members:

TRANSFORMERS 2 in Philadelphia!
We are looking for SAG background talent for the new Dreamworks feature film, "Transformers 2", directed by Michael Bay.

Needed are SAG background men and women, ages 18-65, all ethnicities, for scenes to shoot in the Philadelphia, PA and Princeton, NJ areas. Shooting will take place in June 2008.

We especially need college-age talent for this project.

If interested and available, please e-mail a picture/resume to [email protected]

If your headshot is older than one year, do NOT send it. Instead, send a recent snapshot - that has you alone in the picture – a close-up is preferred (no party pictures holding a beer…)
Your picture must be attached as a ".jpeg” file.
Be sure to include all contact information, height and weight and SAG number in the body of the e-mail. Put "SAG" in the subject line.

We will be announcing an open call for NON-UNION talent soon- stay tuned!

No Phone calls please.

Hey! What's wrong with "party pictures holding a beer"?!

That first one screams Arcee's Holo-rider to me.....

Wonder if they'll go with the design they did before she was shafted by IronHide....

Damn that sounds rude.... lol

They better give the bike to Megan once it's arcee, i mean the set her up to be a gearhead and she drove a two wheeler (although not exactly a motorcycle). This would make her really part of the story even more, she would have her own.

If that is what it means, then I'm not really surprised if Arcee is included since Orci has said that him and Kurtzman like the character. But I do hope that other TF's that were cut from TF1, such as Prowl, Wheeljack, and Shockwave, make the cut for TF2.

I'm still not a huge Arcee fan but I can understand if they include her, which begs the question: Will they explain the whole fembot thing?

^ They don't have to. If there are male robots than there are female robots. I don't think anyone watching the movie would really care, anyway.
