so i went to best buy and they told me it's coming out next tuesday (even though their website says 10/9). then i went to itunes and it gives the 10/9 release date as well but it only says pre-order. what gives?!

Yup. I had already preordered a copy from Amazon and it shipped yesterday, but it won't be delivered until Oct 12 (waah). I was going to get a second copy anyway for my husband and, since I wanted it ... like NOW!... I bought it from Itunes too. Now I have something to listen to until my CD comes in from Amazon.

Amazon and iTunes IMO are the only safe way to go when it comes to buying music. You (usually) get things cheaper and on time with iTunes, and cheaper and garunteed with Amazon. Retail stores suck when it comes to buy anythign but rap and crappy music *cough* Fallout Bot *cough*

No, they aren't sold out. They just didn't have them to begin with. There are a few other stores here in town that sell music. If they don't have them, I'll just order it from Amazon.

I just finished a really cool playlist for Transformers. Nothing fancy, just the entire score album, followed by What I've Done (Linkin Park), Transformers Theme (Mute Math), and This Moment (Disturbed). The last three songs make for nice end credits stuff. t:

I preordered as soon as I found out the date (and could) on amazon and it shipped early this morning. I'm expecting it tomorrow or the next day.

Arrival on Earth will be playing in your head forever after hearing t on the score t: All the tracks ae fantastic. The only one I didn't go off the wall about was Sam at the Lake, as it had nothing to do with the robots themselves and/or was just filler. Other than that, its all kocher!

what I'm discovering is that many of the stores that have it on their website as being released today DID NOT ORDER ANY INVENTORY!! ****ers! Even my local chain, when I asked them two weeks ago, said that they saw it on their list, but that they weren't ordering it

I blame the MBA chumps that decided to release the ablum (which is still overflowing the stock bins at stores)instead of the score. I assume that as a result of the lack of sales of the album, that the score was left for just special orders. this morning the shipping wait was for a day. Now at both amazon and best buy, they are bot on 1-2 week backorder. Nice going, MBA maggots, you glorified business nostrodamas... like "trends" can be reliably predicted... idiots.

.. and they cry when people DL music illegally.

So the only way for me to listen to the score now, despite being the release date, is to DL illegaly while waiting for the dingbats at bestbuy to realize that there is a demand, and order inventory....
