Transformers Transformers - Score by Steve Jablonsky

i've just finished listening to the 2nd best thing, compared to the Score CD, and that is listening to the entire film without dialogue, only music and Sound FX. Thank God for 5.1 DVD Channels that split these to the back channel. With a bit of work you get a great track. Mind you, this doesn't substitute a CD, not by a longshot. The music isn't clean and polished like in a CD, it has the Sound FX mixed in it and although most of the dialogue is absent, every now and then, you can still ear some of it, mainly Optimus's voice. I guess his voice is so powerfull, it gets everywhere, kudos for Mr. Cullen. But it allows you to, along with all the tracks on youtube-awesome by the way- and the promo CD to get a real feel of what the CD will be like. Only 6 more days. Even though i pre-ordered it in Amazon, i think i'll D/L from iTunes, just to keep me goin' till it gets here.:trans:

Yeah...how did you do that?

Curious, that's all.

i like sam our hero music. but for the last part where OP talks the alternative version works 100 times better. the last part of the movie would work better with an epic music. to bad that they use linkin park.

How do you do that?

you demultiplex the 5.1 track from the dvd, run it through a program that splits each channel into 6 individual mono tracks. In the case of Transformers the 2 rear channels have the music and some sound FX and the front channel only dialogue. Its far from the quality of what will be on the Score CD, bass is mostly out the window though i assume anyone that knows how to adjust channels in an equalizer can probably improve it a little. But it allows you to ear all the little music cues that are throughout the movie and get a better sense of all the themes. But i reinterate, buy the CD. This is a makeshift substitute for people that just love this film, love the score and are bitting their nails off until the 9th. And once more, KUDOS FOR STEVE JABLONSKY.

Yeah i tried it out myself and the bass that was suppose to be in skorpinok wasn't there.

So... where did all of you pre-order or plan on buying from? I just did a quick search and found out:

Best Buy - $16.99 (or was it $17.99? - the site is down now for maintenance)
Circuit City - $13.99 (delivery only?!)
Buy.com - $13.98
Amazon - $12.98

In the meantime I downloaded all those YouTube vids from jablonskyfan and plan on running a recorder to rip anything not on the album (I think they all are so I don't have to?). Either way, I can't watch enough of those so they are great to just have - does anyone know of any other videos like this where they play only the score against the footage from the movie?

Oh, and I came across this gem - it's someone playing the Autobots Theme on a piano and IT IS... breath taking.

His name is Patrik Pietschmann and his site, http://www.patrik-pietschmann.de/ has the mp3 AND SHEET MUSIC for it for download. It's magnificent and a must have!!!

Hey guys, if you go to the walmart website and look at the product page for the Transformers Score it has 30 second samples you can listen to! The score sounds like its gonna be a whole lot better than any of the tracks on the promo cd. Here is the link http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=7850068.

Awesome. From what we ear, though, there will be a lot of stuff that was in the film that won't be on the CD. Of course that without knowing how long each track is we can't confirm it. One thing is clear, this will be the best Score CD EVER. And did anyone tear up listening to "Optimus"? I mean, i love that cue in the movie, when they're at the observatory-i think people have been calling it "Why are we fighting?"- but that flute(?) mixed into it gives it a slightly sad(der) tone that just fits the gentleness that Optimus, the big mean fighting machine that he is, displays at its core. And the string section in "All Spark" really shines through in this mix. Made my walls rumble. This CD can't arrive in my mail box soon enough. And if stuff is missing i don't think i will care... much.:trans:

It sounds like skorpinok track is longer just like the one on the youtube version. CANT WAIT!! fav track on the whole CD.

How do you download a YouTube vid and how can you get just the audio from them? I'd like to be able to listen to these on a CD too but don't know how to do it.

Download the new realplayer application, there's a function where it allows you to download youtube videos. You'd have to convert the video file into just an audio file. Just google it and you'll find those programs.

by the way, has anyone found the transformers score listed on any canadian retail stores like hmv, best buy etc. ? I wasn't able to find any and I'm becoming concerned...

Why is to need to download these YT tracks? All those tracks are in MONO (sounding) and a lot of them could appear in better quality on the single OR on the double CD edition score too ;)

Not bad at all.....:hyper:

I can't wait for it either.

And they fixed the misspellings.

Arrival to earth....5:30 minutes almost. SWEET!!

I'm a little bummed that they didn't include the piece at the very beginning of the film where the all spark is tumbling through space with the Optimus voice over. That's one of the best parts of the score.

Aaahhh!!!!! 5 more days! I'm going nuts waiting for my iTunes pre-order. :woot: I'm super glad we foudn those walmart samples, it'll tide me over til next Tuesday.

post 111! woot! lol

I think that's the Autobots Theme. Probably it will be closed (if not the same but longer) to the film's.

By the way, about the online petition, i don't want to say it wasn't important (specially because i signed it), but i readed in some blogs that score release was actually decided and the only reason why there's wasn't a initial score release was the soundtrack (i mean, the other CD with the songs), because releasing both CD together could reduce the sales of both. If you think about it, probably many people have bought the soundtrack and now, will buy the score. If they were released at the same time, probably they will buy only one of them.

(Excuse my english please ;) )

Good points, but I wouldn't have bought the 'soundtrack' because I didn't really like anything on it anyway. :woot:
