Sci-Fi Tron: Ares with Jared Leto

Bruh, I will not tolerate Cameron Monaghan slander on here. Even for most folks who overall disliked Gotham, he was one of the most enjoyable parts of the show. Not to mention he's a pretty good actor everywhere else as well.
I haven't seen him in anything else so until then I won't overall judge him from a show with poor writing and directing. But that thing was abysmal.

I'm interested to see if this will be visually different compare to Legacy. That movie still looks great.

Say what you will about Joseph Kosinski, but his films are visually beautiful. And the soundtracks are incredible.

Joachim Ronning, Kon-Tiki is gorgeous. But his two Disney blockbusters; Maleficent 2 and Pirates 5 are pretty ugly.

Maleficent 2 was an awful, nonsensical film.

I mean, I get guys want to get back to work and the DGA already reached a new deal, but this is what striking is about. It's meant to be disruptive and it's not just about the high-paying workers but the low-end ones as well, just like the DGA represents the unit directors, assistant directors, etc.

Also, let's not forget that AMPTP left the negotiating table months ago and wanted to wait it out until people were starving and losing their houses, calling it a "necessary evil." An AMPTP representative actually told this to Deadline.

Also, not saying Tron Ares will be a bad movie, but is anyone looking forward to this? It's essentially another reboot with none of the original cast from the first two films coming back.

Disney tried really hard to make this into a franchise but it's failed at every turn. They didn't want to make a direct sequel to Legacy. The animated spinoff series also failed and only lasted for one season.

It would probably flop if not underperform.

Indiana Jones 5 and Lightyear didn't do great at the boX office. I would be surprised if this somehow performs well at the boX office.

Yeah, I'm still looking forward to it. I have no hesitation in saying the plot sounds stupid and I also don't understand the reboot/requel/sequel idea but it's Tron related so I'll be open to seeing how it goes. I'm pretty happy both Peters and Monaghan are getting film roles out of it and IMO Turner-Smith is on the edge of breaking out, she just needs a good role. Leto has been questionable lately, he is talented, his choices have just been less than ideal. We'll see if the strike messes with casting and availability...
I'm worried budget is what has driven the plot (more real world than digital) but you never know with Disney, they are also supporting the Parks with this now that two Tron rides exist...I knew when they opened that second ride in Florida that Tron was not dead yet.
As for the Animated series, since you mentioned it, it was doomed to fail. it was put on DisneyXD at a time when it was only children animation. It didn't fit in with their programming there at all, it was made for an older audience which it never got the chance to get. It's darn good though with a great voice cast.
We will see how this goes but I remain cautiously optimistic just because it's Tron.

I will still watch it as it's the world of Tron which I love. But if it was a direct sequel to Legacy with everyone from that coming back. I would be looking forward to it a whole lot more.

Okay will probably start getting excited on this once we see some pictures and stuff. Has Hedlund been confirmed to return?

I understood at the time why Tron 2 was made, and why that cast was chosen.

I do not understand why Tron 3 is being made, nor why that cast was chosen.

I'm not a big Jared Leto fan or anything, but he did win an Oscar.

Well I hope it looks cool. Legacy is quite dull but the imagery of that film was great.

I’m gonna give it a rewatch soon but the feeling I remember having from Legacy was that it was boring.
