Agreed. I can understand the original Tron being called dull due to long times of no music and very dated graphics. It's very of it's time. Legacy doesn't have that problem.

At the very least, I respect the original Tron as a crucial stepping stone in paving the way for and improving upon what would become modern VFX, CGI and animation. Without it, you don’t get Pixar or a lot of other visual effect companies and advancements. So many of the films that we love were and are still being built on the foundation that was laid by this.

Hell, Into/Across the Spider-Verse wouldn’t exist without this film. Just for that alone I am forever and immensely grateful.

Both films are boring.

I couldn't finish the first one, as it looks terribly dated and its a very quiet film. The second film, once I get pass the visual thrill, the story/characters aren't really engaging. There's a reason why these films weren't popular at the boX office and the general public. A third film is happening is quite miraculous. However, I bet it would struggle at boX office and damper on the Tron brand. 2024 will have its boX office flops and underperformances, this would be one of those. I just hope the story will be more engaging this time.

I'd say it's comparable. Besides Bridges, nobody else in the Legacy cast was an A-lister or anything at the time.
