Sci-Fi Tron: Ares with Jared Leto

You don’t need Tron, Sam, Quora, Daft Punk, or anyone as long as you have Leto. :o

So Jeff Bridge's role is basically a cameo? I hope they're not bringing him back to kill him.

It sounds like something similar to how the planned Ascension movie was gonna go where part of plot revolves around restoring him and he's back at the end. Wouldn't be too surprised if they kept it in!

Not to jump to conclusions, but not having Tron in a Tron movie seems odd.
Tron "kinda" wasn't in much of Legacy either (he's mind-controlled as Rinzler for most of it and barely talks) and it didn't really bother me. The fact is, if you really think about it, the series isn't really about him despite the name. Yes, he was significant in the original as Allan's program but the plot mostly centered on Kevin Flynn and his adventure in the Grid, while Legacy is about Sam's quest to rescue his father. There really isn't much to the Tron character other than "he's noble and fights for the users".

So you're telling us there might be a chance they got Daft Punk to reunite for this? A follow-up to one of their best works?

YES PLEASE.

Bringing the Void into the real world…yeah I‘m out.
If showrunners (or in this case movie runners) run out of ideas, they open the door of an ( indeed very interesting) otherworldly realm to the real world

I saw the teaser, it does look *sighs* promising.

Getting NIN is a solid get even though it's slightly not as surprising.

I guess they're not showing us the Grid but I'm expecting Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross to give us another banger like this for the new End of Line club.

I can’t believe I’m saying this after watching the leaked teaser, but this actually looks kind of…rad.

Also, good use of the NIN’s “Something I Can Never Have“ instrumental, and the little tease of the music for the movie itself sounds great.

Jared Leto’s involvement is the only thing that’s tempering my excitement a bit. That guy’s movie poison.

The thing with Leto is… his involvement in a movie doesn’t necessarily kill my interest (Blade Runner 2049 was excellent, for example). But Leto playing the MAIN character in a movie makes me want to avoid it like the plague. But… I generally have to watch anything where Reznor is involved in the soundtrack so… maybe.

I generally dislike Leto but not to the point where I would avoid a movie he's in just for that aspect alone. My main issue is with the concept of bringing the Grid in the real world, but the leaked trailer looked surprisingly promising, Nine Inch Nails for the score is probably the next best thing after Daft Punk and the rest of the cast besides Leto looks pretty solid too.
