Another 99 million to go for us to be guaranteed a sequel! Then again, we could still wait and see how merchandising and DVD sales go...

Of course we all want Tron to make money, but as far as I'm concerned, as long as it makes its (publicly reported :oldrazz: ) production budget back, it's doing alright. It's not the event movie Disney was making it out to be, but in no way is it a Scott Pilgrim bomb either. It's doing okay, like most movies.

Merchandising and DVD sales would probably put it over the line, like how most movies make a profit nowadays. :oldrazz:

A distribution agent from Toronto affiliated with Warner Bros and Disney - he gave a talk at my campus and we had a Q&A after. Very enlightening day.

I'm planning on seeing this this Weekend in IMAX 3D... but a friend of mine told me the movie doesn't have a lot of 3D in it... that she took off her glasses and most of the time even in the grid was 2D... is this true? In not trying to spend 30 on a Movie that doesn't have a lot of 3D

the first 10 mins is in 2D and the last 5 mins is also 2D, everything else is in 3D.

If you are seeing it IMAX 3D the screen projects it in IMAX format (so youll get a full IMAX screen)

I heard it was 3-D once they get to the grid. I myself saw it in glorious 2d.

The 3D effect kicks in when Sam is in the Grid, besides the 3D in your face moment here and there the 3D were underwhelmed.

Screens don't project anything.

Projectors project. :oldrazz:

And among my sources of income, I'm a projectionist (laughing right now). :woot:

Y'know what - I'm kinda glad the 3D was underwhelming. It means we arent going to be missing out a great deal when we watch the movie on Blu-Ray/DVD.

Found this on Kotaku:

(Spoilers for those who haven't seen the film)

The Making of Tron Legacy

Whether you liked this movie or not, you have to admit that the visuals are astounding. Some of the stuff I thought was CG was actually real, and vice versa. :wow:

great video  too bad they made it private

(good thing I ripped the video just before they changed it to private :awesome: )

i think Tron is a big underperformer.

i also think that movies that dont make enough money need to have good word of mouth to get a sequel. for example Batman Begins. you know the story behind it? WB was not 100% on the sequel. you know the TDK sequel?

and Tron Legacy is not the movie that everyone is talking about. i will be shocked if they make a sequel in the next 5 years.

its not my money so i dont care. if they make a sequel i will watch it and pay the ticket.

LOL, well, maybe they'll just reboot it.

Actually, that could work! You could even call it Tron Rebooted and it would make sense!
