I could see him becoming the new 'IT guy' at some point in the next year, J-Law was kind of a phenomenon press wise though due to being 'pretty and goofy' so to speak.

I hope Tye becomes as big as J Law, and then all the focus shifts onto Cyclops and they actually treat him as the leader. *gasp*

That's all it takes Tye... just work your way into the lime light! Then this will all make sense instead of Mystique leading the X-Men. Argh.

Your mindset is that tye isn't famous Enough to be the leader otherwise they would have made him the leader rather then looking at it through the context of the story which is this is early years inexperienced pre-leader cyclops, kinberg and singer have both made a point that he isn't the squeaky clean leader he becomes yet and all the characters are in different places then we have seen before.

As for all the focus, I think that's an over exaggeration

It's funny how that's the way this franchise works. But Tye is on track, so expect a lot of Cyclops in the next film. So much so that everyone on this forum will hate the character.

I've never bought into the idea that Cyclops got "shortchanged" or "shafted" in the old timeline-set films, so what I'm interested in seeing is how his characterization either changes or remains the same relative to what we've seen before.

Agreed I just mean in future installments he'll be brought front and center as the leader rather than needing to establish that and since his star is rising Fox will approve of the shift from Lawrence more so it only helps.

I will say X1 was best interpretation of Scott so far X2 made me raise my eyebrow a little as he was written out of most of the film with Proffesor X to service the story but i was confident Singer would make him a central character in the next film since the Phoenix Saga was the source material cut to X3 with Cyclops killed off screen and Ratbastard taking over for Singer...

It depends since if singer plans on progressing him then is tye being a bigger star gonna make fox stop singer and say forget taking your time and just jump to it? I dunno, I don't think it will be as simple as that

Tye certainly could gian more marketability from stardom but even he said in the interview that they were holding certain things back for further movies
