look who got a picture together

They do kinda favor I guess. They have the same eyes and general mouth shape.

It's everything in between that was definitely shifted by the time/space continuum changes in Days Of Future Past.

What is up with everyone's obsession with noses when it comes to male leads?

Well, I will say this: Tye's got nothing on Miles Teller from Fant4stic--that nose should be a national monument. #MrSnuffleupagus. :csad:

Mmmm, Miles. But, MMMMMMMMM TYE.

I bring hate.

Cyclops was my favorite character in X-men. I've had a crush on him for years.

I wasn't that impressed with the shallow washed out look of the initial pictures, so I found some of Sheridan's interviews. I tried to watch and see him as Cyclops but he made me cringe. There's nothing Cyclops-y about him. He might be a great actor, but some people, no matter their ability, are just wrong for the part.

I suppose it figures that Wolverine is played by a tall pretty boy and Cyclops is the short ugly guy.

I actually like Jackman, but I'm really disappointed because I loved Marsden so much. I'm getting cold feet from this movie. Sophie Turner is uninspired casting to say the least. McAvoy did nothing for me. Jennifer Lawrence and the constant Mystique bores me. I'm sick of Magneto in every X-men movie--at least Fassbender is magnetic (ha). Shipp's mohawk looks bad...but she looks right, at least? And Kinberg is still messing up the scripts.

Could have taken all of that if Cyclops were just lovable. :(

See the thing about that is the only criticism you have on jackman is him being tall and good looking but lets pretend we haven't seen jackman for 7 movies as wolverine and you just came across the guy in an interview... would you think he would make a good wolverine? or would you expect someone who instantly has bad boy written on him?

From what i hear there was a fair amount of doubters the day jackman was cast back in 2000

This is true. I was against Affleck when he was cast for Daredevil and I was among those who fully admitted they were wrong because he did a great job (with what he had). Charlie Cox didn't inspire a lot of trust because his face is dorky (it is). You would never look at his Stardust character and go "he could be Daredevil!" I still don't like his face, and it bugs me when he takes off his glasses...or tries to seem blind and doesn't quite sell it. He looks fine in glasses or the ninja mask.

But!

Jackman was not perfect in his role. He was decent. He made a nice "What if Wolverine was a pretty young man?" He never sold the character as it exists in the comic books. He is the Foxmen's alternate universe Wolverine. We have yet to see an adequate representation of the mean little runt.

I loved Green Lantern:kyle: and couldn't go to see the movie because I needed someone to tell me it didn't suck. Still waiting.

I feel the same about Cyclops, and what they've done to him in the comics hurts my heart. Tye Sheridan--so far--seems like just another sad disappointment. I can't even imagine wanting to read fanfiction about him, and that's half the fun of the general audience seeing an X-men film.:waa:

Cute photo. Thanks for sharing! They could do another DOFP promo image with these two. haha :drl:

I think it's best to just wait for his performance of Cyclops before judging what he can do on the role based on a couple of interviews. I, for one, think that he's an excellent young actor. It's just that in interviews he seems shy and reserved. Let's just wait and see. :yay:

Wow.
You're quick to judge, eh ? You can judge if a casting was good even before seeing a movie, you're what, a psychic or something like that ?

Take Evan Peters for instance. Nobody thought he would make a good quicksilver. everybody hated his costume. And he is often weird and shy in interviews... Nothing compelling there. Yet he was one of the best part of DoFP in the end.

I don't know if Sheridan will be good as Cyclops. But I saw him in Mud and I was blown away by his skills as an actor. It's really rare to find such talent in such a young actor.

So, wait and see ?

Sheridan might indeed be good. But you're not helping his case by pointing to Evan Peters. His Quicksilver was atrocious. He'd have made a decent Speed. The only thing interesting was his power display.

I've heard a lot of people say the best thing about DoFP was the special effects. That's..not great.

Okay...
I fear we don't seek the same qualities in actors.

What actors of the X-men franchise (or even MCU) do you deem as being good ?

(I feel I blamed the actor unnecessarily. He did not rewrite his character.)

Hugh Jackman has been appealing enough. He's a good actor, and he's done what he could to be Wolverine.

I loved James Marsden. I understand he wasn't very happy with the way his character was portrayed and I can hardly blame him. Its very sweet how he's trying to protect the new Cyclops.

I think Patrick Stewart made a good modern Xavier. One of the long-time X-men writers felt he was too soft and sweet, that a Yul Brynner type would have been more accurate. That's very true of the old characterization. More modern characterizations have been kinder, and its with good reason most people wanted Stewart to play him.

Magneto's personality has been all over the map in canon. Claremont hinted that that may be because of his powers affecting..something in his physicality. Both actors portraying him have done wonderfully, whatever personality he's given. That line, "Are you sure you saw what you saw?", still makes me cringe, unfortunately.

Rebecca Romijn did a surprising good job as Mystique. Her cynicism and coldblooded nastiness evoked the real character. Would've preferred to see her acting as the independent leader she is, than Magneto's toady, though.

I liked the guy who played Gambit in Origins. Very good cute *******.

Ryan Reynold's Deadpool was adequate. I expect he'll do okay in the upcoming movie.

Iceman seemed accurate enough. Vaguely hostile, dorky, emotions on his sleeve, not the brightest, always attracted to the wrong girl.. Singer joked that there might be something meta in dating the girl he can't touch and a girl with occasional touch issues. Not great, but I have no bad feelings about him. Really hate his beard though.

I know nothing about John Wraith's character, but Will i Am was very charismatic in the role. Wish we could get more of him.

Peter Dinklage made me love a character I'd only hated before. Very uncomfortable.

I only hate Rose Byrne because it isn't that hard to get a Scottish actress. Another decent actor, screwed by bad writing.

I find Angel Salvadore to be repellent in comics, but in movies, she wasn't bad. Her characterization seemed very believable. One of the few improvements.

Oliver Platt's g-man made me cheer. Along with his humor and general flexibility, I immediately fan-canoned that he's related to Patton Oswalt's Agents of Shield triplets characters.

Eva Magyar seemed believable in her role as Maggie's mom. She reminded me of artwork of Magda, Magneto's wife.

Bruce Davison was never more appealing than when he was dying as Robert Kelly.

There are actors like Alan Cumming and Kelsey Grammer that I like in other roles, but did not like their portrayals here. I'd blame the writing. I want to like Famke Janssen but...I don't know. I'm not sure if it was bad writing or lack of magnetism.

The real issue to me:

Is the 1983 Cyclops 16 years old or 18 years old? :bnd:

Tye spoke a bit about X-Men in this interview:

Post Zombie Apocalypse, Sheridan already has wrapped up his next possible world-ender, the role of the mutant Cyclops in X-Men: Apocalypse. Showing up to work alongside Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence was intimidating — even after starring alongside Pitt as a kid.

"When you're young, you're fearless. The older you get, the fear sets in," says Sheridan. "I'm constantly more aware of who the people I am working with and how successful they are. But you have to remind yourself that they are just like you. Everyone is there to do a job."

There was also dealing with Cyclops' extra-concealing glasses that control the powerful energy beams his character's eyes emit. It was Sheridan's turn for comedic falls.

"With Cyclops' glasses, my peripheral vision was like looking through a box," says Sheridan. "So when anything was under my feet, I tripped. I tripped all the time. It's the revenge of the zombie extras."

The real issue to me:

He was most likely born in 1966 (4 years after the events of First Class) as is Jean and Storm so they will each be 17 years old in 1983.

Cyclops [BLACKOUT]is the one driving the kids when they go to the mall.[/BLACKOUT] So deduce from that what you will.
