I'm torn on whether I want to read Ultimate X-Men or not.

For me I can't just read one Ultimate title. I gotta read them all. Which I guess is why I like Ultimate Marvel because I can just a few books a month and know everything that goes on. As far as the regular universe I just pick up the major event story lines. Can't wait for Avengers: X-Sanction. I really wanna see Ed Mcguiness do something with Ultimate Marvel.

I really like the first issue of Ultimate Comics: X-Men, and if it weren't for the fact that I'm pretty much poor, I'd be getting the next issue. The art was good, and I liked this sense of dread that Spencer created. My only gripe, and its trivial, is that Jimmy has that stupid hair.

My thoughts on this week's Ultimate Comic:
X-Men #2
This was a great X-Men issue and something i've been waiting for since X-Men First Class. Awesome team banter? Check. Good team play and action? Check. Teenager drama added with X-Men problems? Check! Templars wanting to kill the "heretics!" check check check!

Meh.

The pacing and the timeline is so confusing for me, the comic book starts 11 months ago, then i believe it forwards more to whats happening right now with no mention of the Asgardian invasion from Loki, just Ultimatum, but so how long has time passed now? #1-2 happened in a 2 days or so, then with the school montage i'm guessing time passes by a few days as Ganke and Miles get to know the new students, man i want that Steve Urkel guy to become a Spider-Man too, imagen a Steve Urkel Spidey! That's be outrageous!

Still i like the relationship between Ganke and Miles, two really cool guys, and Uncle Aaron is smart to leave behind the scenes to avoid becoming another dead uncle.

While I was not a fan of New Ultimates and at first I hated Ultimates 3 but after reading it a 2nd time I thought it wasn't that bad as long as I don't compare it to the first 2. And Ultimatum I think Loeb was trying to do like Avengers Disassembled and burn everything down to rebuild it, now weather he accomplished that is up to you. Personally the only good thing about Ultimatum was it was cool to see all these characters get murdered in really horrible ways, something you can't get in the 616. All that and Finch's art rocked.

I'm ready to drop USM. This is the 3rd issue, and its been nothing but slow moving development and dialogue. I feel like I've been reading the same story for three issues. I don't have the patience anymore for 8-part arcs that can be told in 4 issues.

Pacing is the worst thing in USM easily, it's not even horrible, it's worse than horrible, calling it horrible would be an insult to horrible things lol.

- The scientists introduced in Hawkeye will be seen in Ultimate X-Men.
- An old character (whos a dick) will re-appear.

Any other POSITIVE reveiws for USM #3?? LOL. I wasn't able to make to the comic store to get the latest ish. Now as far as the slow pacing of Miles origin is concerned, i definitely have the patience to deal with that- before we see him don the spandex, the world he lives in has to be completely fleshed out first. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the relationship change's between Miles and his Father once he makes his choice to use his abilities for good/bad?? And being that he looks up to his Uncle, will he reveal his power to him, and possibly be persuaded to assist him as a criminal? The possiblities are definitely in place for that to happen. Lastly, IF he does go the crime route, is this where he'll meet the original Spider-Man who'll teach him: "With Great Power..." line that'll change his life forever?? So that's why i can hang on, because i'm intrigued by the possibilities of which way the story can go.

Ultimate Hawkeye #3 keeps the James Bond vibe and we finally have a codename for Derek the new Angel, his codename now being "the Guardian" which fits nicely, it was lovely to see Bruce Banner getting written again, but yeah big o-shi moment at the end.

Ultimates #3 preview! It's time for Tony to boost Thor's morale to fight the bad guys, oh yeah!

So, what's the Ultimate books looking like right now? I dropped them awhile back, but with all of these new writers coming in like Hickman and Spencer to it, I'm back to being interested. I may not pick up singles, but I'm particularly interested in what Hickman may be doing with the Ultimates cast.
