Character Name: Harold "Hal" Jordan; The Green Lantern
Alignment (Hero, Villain, or Walking The Line): Hero
Character Speech Font and Color: 00FF7F
Powers and Abilities: Hal has an iron will and the ability to push himself beyond his limits. While he may seem to be lacking in raw intelligence, his drive enables him to see a way to reach any goal, from getting up in the morning to ignoring exhaustion to forcing his way through college. He also is one of the planet's greatest pilots and is trained properly to man a stellar shuttle.
With his Green Lantern ring, Hal is able to manipulate Green Light. He can due numerous things with it, such as creating a personal atmosphere, generating hard-light constructs, or sending out raw bursts of it as an attack. Also worth noting, the ring has an advanced AI computer with dozens of programmed functions. The ring, in order to expend hard light, must either be charged with a Lantern-Battery, or be exposed to a steady amount of white or green light.
Origin/Backstory: Hal Jordan was born in Wichita, Kansas, by his mother and father, who worked at Boeing. Hal watched his father test aircraft countless times, even seeing him pull through after being condemned by doctors as inoperable after a crash. With the greatest of faith in working class heroes instilled in him, he wanted to be a pilot when he grew up. So he studied exceedingly hard and managed to get on a career path for piloting the only thing his dad didn't: spaceships.
After demonstrating his skills in front of a skeptical judge in simulations, he was recommended for a position at Ferris Aircraft. In order to fill the position, he moved to Coast City, leaving everyone he'd ever known behind. It was here that he met the only two women he'd ever had an emotional attachment to. Carol Ferris, the boss who instantly rejected him for professional reasons, and Sue Storm. In order to avoid any unnecessary drama, especially from her ex-boyfriend and coworker, Reed Richards, they kept a cap on their relationship.
Despite the greatest of effort on their part, Reed slithered his way into their relationship and had Hal replaced with Ben Grimm on the nearest shuttle. With a great distrust in Reed, whom he personally believed to be a spineless worm, he betrayed his upbringing to seek comfort, going to a psychic. He visited The Black Hand, a clairvoyant local to the Coast City area in hopes of being reassured of Sue's safety. A deal was made that she would live, so long as someone else, not of his choosing would die. Hal accepted.
Days later, the shuttle launched and the four pilots were lost to the depths of space. Distraught, Hal entered a deep depression before being told his father, who was secretly nursing a stranded and wounded Abin Sur, had been overcome by cancer overnight. Hal briefly visited Wichita to deliver a speech at his father's funeral before visiting the emptied house in which he was raised. In the garage, he found the dying body of Abin Sur, who he was initially disturbed to see.
Abin Sur explained he belonged to The Green Lantern Corps, an intergalactic military/police force. Hal settled down and shortly after explained the deal he had made and how he had sacrificed his father unwittingly. But, Abin explained that he, not Hal's father had been chosen for death, and Martin had actually died naturally, assuring him that Susan was certainly still alive. With that, he passed away, his ring flying only a few feet, onto Hal's finger.
What Makes This Version "Ultimate:" His dad died of cancer well after his childhood, and an initial distaste for superheroics, a retooled rogues gallery and the alternate origin.
What Can You Bring to The RPG: Excuses for poor roleplaying etiquette as well as some puns. Someone else for EB and Carnage to play with. A flashpoint inspired take on Jordan, too, I guess. But the best my efforts will allow. I'm using a Windows Mobile Phone (I know phone posts are infamous, but Ive never played from a computer, persay).

"Now we'll have a word from Martin's oldest son, Harry Jordan," the speaker stepped away and off stage to make room for yours truly, bomber jacket and all.
Stepping up to the microphone, I looked sternly at the chairman, shaking my head and warning him
"Don't ever call me Harry, again." Rolling my shoulders, I coaxed myself into speaking, slapping a leaf of paper against the podium. I sized up the audience, everyone from my brothers, sis, cousins, and dad's coworkers, to mom, who I hadn't seen in years.
Oops.
"Well.. here we go."
"When I was seven years old, I watched my dad at the airstrip every day. Gee, that was somethin'. No matter how many times he jumped in that cockpit, and took off to the skies, my heart always fluttered right up with him. When he'd hop out, I'd run over and pounce onto his knee. I loved my dad and every second I'd ever spent with him.
My brothers, and mom were always worried when he'd be up in the air. He tested the most advanced flight machines of his day. While the nerds who drew up the specs, n' the stiffs who paid for the things had time n' money on the table, my dad was the one who put his life on the line every single day. My dad was so stubborn and strong someone, don't do it to be worshipped. Do it because it's the right thing to do. If my dad had crazy superpowers, he'd step up and end all the wars on this planet. He'd clean the gulf. He'd help the elderly cross the street and do it without breaking everything in sight. M-m-my dad was the greatest man that ever lived. A real hero, the last of a dying breed. And no one will ever be able to replace him. Thank you for your time," I stepped down, but took the time to throw my blank sheet of 'script' paper at the chairman's face first.
