Age of Ultron Ultron! We Would Have Words With Thee! Official Thor/Chris Hemworth Thread - Part 1

I was extremely happy with how Thor turned out in this film, yes it would have been nice to see a bit more of his side quest - but I kind of get why Whedon felt the need to trim it down.

Hemsworth rocked it, as always, and I loved his banter with the rest of the team. He clearly feels comfortable among them and it just....works.

After 2 viewings I find Thor to be very well represented in AOU..
Power levels were off the scale finally...
He capture's everyone's attention when he enters a room..
He basically towers over the others...
He's a babe magnet to be sure...
His scenes were jaw dropping at times..He is the true definition of the Big Gun...
He was hilarious at times as well..
My only pet peeve is the Vision lifting the Hammer scene...to me it sort of took away from the whole mystique surrounding it...
Lets hope the new director will make Thor shine even more....

I love that Dr. Cho wasn't going to go to the party, until she heard that Thor would be there.
As for the hammer scene, that's where the whole "he be worthy" thing comes in. The enchantment doesn't say that ONLY Thor can be "worthy." Hence why Cap has lifted it on several occasion in the comics. Also, Vision apparently cannot use any of it's "special features" so to speak. He just hits people with it.

Yeah I was concerned about the hammer thing
but after seeing how it played out, it was a well done callback to earlier in the film, and was a better way of showing the team could trust him without a bunch of talking

my only issue remains that if anyone should be able to lift it, Cap should
but maybe he only nudged it because it wasn't a worthy reason to try to lift it?
mjolnir don't like showboating[/SPOILER]

Why does Cap need to be at the center of everything? Why does he need to be able to life Mjolnir? Let's leave that be for Thor ([BLACKOUT]and Vision[/BLACKOUT]).

Just IMO of course

I don't wanna see Cap at the center of everything necessarily
[BLACKOUT]but from a logical standpoint, if any Avenger outside Thor is worthy, it should be Cap
Vision I guess gets a pass cuz he's pure and innocent as a newborn[/BLACKOUT]

I also think it could be the work of the mind stone that vision was able to lift it. It is one of the most powerful artifacts in the universe and could override the enchantment so I'm sure that can be a reason as to why he was able to lift it.

I saw AOU for a second time yesterday and I noticed Thor flipping a tank! Omg It was during that opening tracking shot and Hulk caught it afterwards.

I also noticed how powerful Thor was in the MK1 Party attack, the Iron Legion posed zero threat to him. The other Avengers were getting their asses kicked handily and Thor was just going to town.

The way he dispatched the Iron Legion bots, you realize that he could have ended the forest fight in seconds, had he wanted to.

Hi I usually dont get any financial help from forums thus I don't post very often. I am really good at English and like to help the community on super heros. Ultron should be stopped his rules seem to take us a closer eye of a true villain, and he is really putting problems in the market of hope that robots can assist us when we create them, Irobot is similar movie when we experience robots displaying violence behavior or are wrong. Another thing to remember is Star Wars gave us the lovely R1R2 Robots they take use of robots in the dark side. Short but something to think about?

P.S. Robots are researched usually by engineers, I took English their is no correlation, only very specific few can create robots and it is a great hobby i suggest you all to look into it you may make new friends. Thanks for reading this post...... Right?

Yes those Iron Legion definitely seemed comparable to Iron Man. I say that because they overwhelmed everyone besides Thor easily even Cap.

And as well all know MCU Cap is no slouch at all.

Now I really want to see a scene like this in Civil War.

I missed that part of Thor flipping the tank over. Was it done via the hammer or with his own strength?

No not the scene where he hits Cap's shield.

I'm talking about the scene where he lands and flips the tank and Hulk catches it.

There's actually quite a few moments in this film where I can't wait for the home release just so I can slow down/watch some scenes frame by frame just to catch everything that's going on (in the foreground and the background) the opening forest fight is one of them

Yes because I did not notice it the first time I watched it.

I don't think Thor will make an appearance in Civil War, but I do expect this scene to play out the next time he comes to Earth, which will probably be in Infinity War Part I.

I think your list of Avengers in your sig needs updating :D

The continued lack of power, authority and leadership Thor is supposed to have just irks me. In the movies, Thor is the most underpowered of all the Avengers compared to their comic book versions. Primarily just penny-ante hand-to-hand combat they give him, looking no more powerful than Cap, Hawkeye and even the Black Widow ...is quite comical. He's so much more than just standing around swatting foes with Mjolnir. Also, I can understand the leadership role they give Cap, he's kinda egotistical like that, but Thor should have as much equally.

Simply put, they just don't let his superiority shine through like it should. Hopefully in Ragnarok, that will change.

I will add... I think they've done an amazing job with his overall look, and the design of Mjolnir. I wish he would've had that look in the first Thor.

Dude Thor punched, kicked, and ripped apart The Iron Legion bots like they were ants. While everyone else on the team couldn't put a dent in them. They were throwing Cap around like he was a small child.

He also flipped a tank in opening battle (the one hulk caught), he also picked up a car with one hand and flew with it in the climax.

They've even showed that he can generate lightning without Mjolnir when he was in the cave. So if you get that he's Cap, Hawkeye, or Black Widow level that's your hang up.
