Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception - Part 1

I only bought Deus Ex because Amazon had it for $34.99 two weeks after it was released, and hearing good reviews about it, I figured it was a steal. It just turns out I went on another one of my "don't feel like playing games" moods because of school and other things.

So how would u rate it Kal

For me, it surpasses U2. Take the wonderful storytelling from U2 and then raise the bar for visuals, fist fights/melee, puzzles, and set pieces. I knew they could do it, but it still took me by surprise some how. Can't wait to hear what you guys and girls think about it.

I am really trying not to trade games in anymore. I just tend to buy 'em again when they're 20 bucks. Tremendous waste of money on my part.
I've sold a lot of games for my Wii back when I played it a lot and sort of regretted it. So I decided not to with my PS3 games, until I needed some money earlier in the year. So I decided to sell only some games that I had already platinumed and didn't really feel like I needed to replay. Although my mom was really mad after I sold Infamous 2 and LA Noire after just buying them with her Amazon card. But at least I got some decent money for those two.

These days, I generally try and finish the game within 7 days, then weigh up how often I'll play it or if it's worth keeping. If it isn't, then i use the EB Games 7 days return policy and get all my money back :P

Do you buy 'em used? Our EB does that as well... but ONLY on used games.

Nah, my EB does that on all games. In fact, I think all EB's in Australia

Fin-ito. Done. Completed. FINISHED.

It tops Uncharted 2. What more needs to be said than that?

This summer I invested in a Gamefly account and I believe it really save me money, especially since I managed to get a free month twice with two separate accounts. But I was finally able to try out a lot of games that I didn't want to buy, and I was able to Platinum them quickly so I would send them back immediately once I did that.

Right now, I can tell I'll need to invest a lot of time to the Splinter Cell Trilogy to platinum it, so I might end up buying it if it goes on sale soon. Plus I really like the SC games and would love to have them as part of my actual collection. It's what I did when I discovered how much I loved Mass Effect 2. But there's a few games like Arkham City, Uncharted, and Assassin's Creed that I will buy automatically because I know what to expect and they are part of my collection already. I can't imagine myself ever selling those games, especially since I still haven't platinumed any of them.

As it should be. Retailers dont accept returns on opened disc based products bc of piracy. It would be too easy to copy the game, return it and get your money back.

Exactly, and a Treasure Hunters University degree! :duh:

You need money to be able to hunt treasures. You need money to travel and expenses. it just doesn't work that way. Maybe is was born into a rich family. Idk

You just blew my mind. :o

And thats why Nathan is smart enough to get other people to pay for him. His adventure in Uncharted 1 was funded by Elena's group, who was making a documentary, based on the expedition. Im sure other expeditions were funded by others along the way.

Among Thieves, showed that he was a thief in his past. In that game he was contracted to steal a treasure. In that mission, the person who hired him paid for the expenses of his job. Its not too far to beleive that during different jobs like this, he'd take some other treasures along the way (which you do do in the games) and sell them, making a small fortune for sustain himself.

i just wait for the games that i want to get to $30 or $20 but the games that i want REALLY REALLY bad i just get them day 1. I don't llike preordering games anymore i just think if you're going to buy the game just buy it the day it releases i don't care for the extra stuff that comes with it.

Not requesting any spoilers, but are there any twists that us fans of the series will be like, "dayyyuuuummmm!" when we see it?

You should. You can preorder games, get the extra content and sell it on Ebay for $20+ thus taking care of the cost of the game that might make you hesitant about buying it day one.

Like you though, the games I really want, I get day one, If I dont get it day one, then Im not paying $60 for it. Those games I can wait for a drop in price. The last day one game I got this year was Infamous 2 and recently Batman. Next it will be UC2 and UMvC3. If Best Buy does a B2G1F sale as rumored, I will add MGS HD to the list and Im done for the year.

Anyone join the Fortunes Club or what ever its called? Do I have to get it before Tuesday or will it be available post-release?

I listened to IGN's podcast this morning and they said UC2 was very predictable in its structure but UC3 throws several curveballs that you wont expect

Yeah. You get some background on some characters and it is rather surprising. Lots of twists and turns.

I got a major exam on Tuesday but thankfully this game comes out that day and I will have something to unwind with after :D

I have 2 classes from 11 to 5 on Tuesday and usually UPS delivers my packages after 5 so I'm hoping that it comes right after I get home. I have Wednesday off so I'm going to make sure I play it as much as I can.

I'll be busy all day Tuesday, but thankfully I can get UC3 during my 12pm-3pm break. Can't wait. :awesome:

I do have one gripe or two. When you finish the game, you do not unlock tweaks (Unlimited Ammo etc.) and you cannot re-watch the cut scenes from the game. It was fun messing around with Mirror World and re-watching some of the awesome cut scenes in the previous games. :csad:

Edit: You can, however, unlock Crushing after playing on Normal this time around.

Yeah, definitely disappointed in the lack of campaign unlocks. I'll just have to settle for replaying the plane scene over... and over... and over... and over.

Lol, same here. Plus Chapter [BLACKOUT]7, 15, and 20[/BLACKOUT].
