Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception - Part 1

So far yeah. The beginning is a bit slow, because it has some tutorial stuff and sets the story up. That is what they did in U2 as well. It ramps up pretty quick though. I really like the puzzles so far and the melee is smile inducing.Dialogue and voice acting are awesome as always. Another nice touch is that the treasures you find during the game, are actual treasures and not shiny dots. They still shine though.
If the melee system consists of what's in your avatar, then I'm going to be a happy man. Are there several different types of melee takedowns?

IGN has already posted a walkthrough of both pics and videos of the first chapter.

It's going to be really hard to not watch it. :(
Yeah, I'm staying away from it. I have Gears 3, Arkham City, Battlefield 3, Infamous: Festival of Blood to keep me occupied. I will be getting UC 3 from Amazon, and will get it on the release date. Then I have MW3 next week and finally HALO: Anniversary the next week. Needless to say, I am going to be busy for the next several months. lol

Eh... 10/10 isn't saying a game is perfect and has no flaws, as that's impossible. It's just a very, very high recommendation.

Agreed. I take the top score from anywhere, as they're highest reccommendation. Not them calling the game a "perfection" of the industry. Those no longer exist, where we have people who will ALWAYS find a negative no matter what the game, movie, book, etc. Perfection is something that's never actually existed in these things, really.

Yeah, I was listening to IGN's playstation podcast earlier and Greg Miller even said that the game wasn't perfect. In fact, no game is. But the 10/10 rating is more reflective of how good the game is how and it stands above most others in that it is its own unique experience and executes things really well all around.

And I think perfection can exist to some extent, but only in a the way of an opinion or personal preference. Like for me, games like GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption and Mass Effect 2 were the perfect kinds of games for me because I love game that take you on a long journey with a story mode that makes you invest a lot of time to it. But then even then, there are always ideas of ways to improve a game for a sequel or even to make the game even more better. Also, one person's idea of perfect is not the same as others, so it's not really fair to make a judgment like that for anything.

Two questions Kal!

1. Have you played the cargo plane set piece yet?

2. How are the bike riding sections?

Just an FYI, Target has a Buy 2, Get 1 free next week. Good time to get Uncharted 3 and some other games (or get it with 2 friends).

I think many of us are. This and so many games coming out in Oct/Nov. I know I'll be busy gaming well into new years.

My review copy came through today. It's absolutely wonderful. About half way through I think.

Gameplay walkthroughs have been uploaded to youtube, so...so..so tempting.

Stay far, FAR away from them. There are several surprises within the first 10 minutes that would suck to spoil.

1. Nope, but I have a feeling I am close to it though.
2. No bike riding in sight. Lol.

I am as well. I was sick last night and didn't continue playing until today. I'm at that part with that shocking [BLACKOUT]just kidding. I will not place spoilers in here. Lol.[/BLACKOUT]

I clicked on the walkthroughs but i exited the screen before the vid began to load this weekend will be long

Just beat the game. I did it in under 8 1/2 hours and found 47 treasures. What a great ride. You guys will love it.

1. Now you have finished it how was that set piece?
2. Did it end up being left out of the game?

1. I like it, but they showed too much of it in the previews and such. I like the way he survives the fall though. I really liked the Boat set piece. Thankfully they didn't show the whole thing, because my jaw dropped when I saw a certain part.

2. No bike riding, but there is [BLACKOUT]horse riding[/BLACKOUT]. It's part of a very intense sequence.

Man... the wait for this is going to be hard... but worth it. It's on my Christmas list along with Rage and Deus Ex..

Two other apparently excellent games I've yet to play.

I have Deus Ex and I finally started playing it yesterday after having it for about a month and a half. But then I stopped and decided to play the Splinter Cell Trilogy because I've had it from Gamefly for two weeks and want to see if I should buy it looks like I may be able to Platinum it at some point.

But I know once Tuesday comes and my delivery arrives, everything else takes the back seat.

Outside of Batman, Skyrim will be getting all of my gaming attention. I'm currently debating about canceling my Modern Warfare 3 preorder and putting my hard earned cash down on my favorite franchise, MGS HD collection.

Deus Ex was fun but I traded it in this week. I honestly can't see myself playing it through again for a while and when I get the urge I'll just rent it.

I am really trying not to trade games in anymore. I just tend to buy 'em again when they're 20 bucks. Tremendous waste of money on my part.
