I know this word has been used a lot to the point where it no longer has the same meaning, but I felt an "epic" vibe from this game. I've been listening to the score that plays during the credits and I feel like it really captures the essence of a game that has managed to raise the stakes during its third time around in so many ways. This is definitely my vote for GOTY.
But I'm curious, did Naughty Dog ever say this was a trilogy because I came across a bunch of articles on google that claim that this is a trilogy, but I don't remember ND ever saying that.
So for the people who have beaten it is this GOTY worthy? Or is there another game that should get it?
I really hope Gamefly sends me Skyrim because I am very eager to find out what all of the hype is about that. As for Arkham City, I really liked it, but I felt a little disappointed by it because I was sort of expecting more. With all the side missions and stuff, I was expecting to spend a good chunk of time with it, but I feel let down with how easy it was to get 100% on the story. It was fun while it lasted, but it didn't really leave me excited by the end. But as usual with Uncharted, I feel like I went on this big adventure with these characters and its left more of a lasting impact and impression on me than AC did.

.Spidey, I kinda agree with you about Arkham City... I mean, it was my favourite genre of game, I LOVE open world games and I'm a huge superhero and comic fan, but I found I burnt myself out on Arkham City quicker than I have on other open world games like Red Dead or the Assassins Creed games. I mean, I still loved Arkham City, but I'm gonna have to give it a while before I go back to it and having done all the riddles and side missions already it's just story for me to enjoy again anyway. I don't know why, but I don't get the same rush just mucking around as Batman as I still do as Ezio or as I did just roaming the countryside as John Marston. I think it suffers a little bit from what Arkham Asylum did, where, whilst the environment was beautifully detailed, it felt a little empty for me. Obviously, it made sense regarding the context, but it just didn't immerse me in that location as much. I think it was just the dilapidated nature of the whole thing, because I felt the same way about all the ruins in Assassins Creed Brotherhood, it just makes those areas feel dead rather than an area brimming with life.
Its the closest thing to an open world Batman game and more so than AA. I think that label for the game is validI think the thing to remember is that Arkham City is not really an open world game. The comparison has been made that its Zelda like in that the city itself serves more as a hub to the various actual locations rather than being the primary location itself that I think holds up when you look at how the game is actually laid out.
I dont think they have, in fact i think they have stated that it was NEVER intended as a trilogy.
Im up to ch 12 so far and while I'm loving it, i just dont have that same 'wow' factor that i did with two. Right now, Batman is still my goty with Skyrim left to try and take its crown. Unless the next chapters of this game really punch me in the face with awesome, then it could jump right in to that number 1 spot.
t:What Kind of jeans does Drake have? It never rips!
Video game jeans.
I agree. And I honestly wouldn't be surprised if that is the direction they go to for the next game they make.Beat the game in a day. Great, amazing game. Gonna run through the games again.
I loved the part where you play a young Nate. They should use that concept for the PS Vita games. Him growing up with Sully. I think that'd be interesting to see.
